This article will show you how to make your posts public on Facebook for everyone to see. These steps work for both the mobile app and the website.

Method 1 of 4: Make existing messages public (mobile)

1. Open the Facebook app. Enter your username and password when prompted and press "Sign In".
2. Tap your profile picture. This will take you to your profile page.
3. Press the menu button on the post you want to edit. This is the arrow in the top right corner of the message.
4. Press Edit privacy.
5. Press Public. The message is now visible to everyone regardless of whether they have a Facebook account or are friends with you on Facebook.

Method 2 of 4: Make new messages public (mobile)

1. Open the Facebook app. Enter your username and password when prompted and press "Sign In".
2. Press What's going through your mind?.
3. Tap Friends. This button is below your name when you create a new message.
   • When using the website, this button is located at the bottom right of the new message box.
4. Press Public. When you are done with your message, it will be visible to everyone whether they are friends with you or not.

Method 3 of 4: Make existing messages public (Internet)

1. Open Facebook in your browser. Enter your username and password when prompted and click "Sign In".
2. Click on your profile picture. It is on the right in the menu bar at the top of the left sidebar. This will take you to your profile page.
3. Click the privacy menu in the message you want to change. This is just below your name in the message. The icon will correspond to the message's current privacy settings (a lock for private, a person for friends, or a globe for public).
4. Click on Public. When you are done with your post, it will be visible to everyone, regardless of whether they have a Facebook account or whether or not they are friends with you on Facebook.

Method 4 of 4: Make new messages public (Internet)

1. Open Facebook in your browser. Enter your username and password when prompted and click "Sign In".
2. Click on What's going through your mind?.
3. Click on Friends. This button is at the bottom right of the new message box.
4. Click on Public. When you are done with your message, it will be visible to everyone whether they are friends with you or not.
