Have you just eaten the best steak ever? Was the service in the cafe unbelievably bad? Was the tour of the castle extremely interesting, or was it super boring? You can let the world know: you can rate just about anything on Google. In this article you will learn how.

To step

Method 1 of 2: Post a review with your computer

  1. Log in to your Google account. You can log in from any Google website, including the search page. Click on the login button at the top right of the page and log in with your username and password.
    • If you are not logged in when you write the review, Google will ask you to log in at that time.
    • If you don't have a Google account yet, you will need to create one.
  2. Find the business or place you want to review. You can write reviews about restaurants, cafes, attractions, shops and much more. Search via Google for the company or place you want to write the review about.
    • Instead of using the Google search engine, you can also search for the location via Google Maps or Google+.
  3. Go to the reviews. The location you have searched for appears on a large screen. Below the photo (or photos) are five stars. To the right of that it says "[number of] Google reviews" or "[number of] reviews". Click on that text.
  4. Click on "Write a review". The reviews page has a button or link with a pencil and the text "Write a review". Click on it to write your own review.
    • The location of the button or link depends on how you searched for the location (search engine or Google Maps or otherwise). Usually the button or link is near the photo of the location.
  5. Assign a number of stars. The rating consists of two parts: a star rating and a description (review). Other people often see the stars first, so it is important to think carefully about the number of stars you give so that the number of stars really reflects your opinion.
    • You can give at least one star ("I thought it was terrible") and a maximum of five ("I thought it was perfect"). The number of stars you give will count towards the average number of stars the location has in the search results.
  6. Write your review. After you have awarded the number of stars, you can write a review. Describe your experience with the location. What did you like, what did you like less.
  7. Publish your review. When your review is complete, click on the "Post" button. This allows you to publish your assessment on the internet. In the assessment, which is visible to everyone, your name will appear with a link to your assessment profile.

Method 2 of 2: Post a review with your smartphone

  1. Open your internet browser on your smartphone. You can use any browser for this.
  2. Go to the main Google page. Type the address of the Google website in the address bar. You will then be taken to the search page.
  3. Search for the location you want to rate. Type the name of the location you want to review in the Google search bar and tap enter. Then the search results will appear.
  4. Start the assessment process. On the right side of the page you will see the location you were looking for, with a photo of that location. Scroll down until you see the text "Write a review". Tap that text.
  5. Log in to your Google account. If you were not already logged in, Google will ask you to log in. Enter your username and password and tap "Log in" to continue.
  6. Select the number of stars you want to give. Tap the number of stars that best reflects your experience of the location. One star is the lowest rating, five stars is the highest.
  7. Tap the field below the stars and write your review. Be as specific as possible; explain what you liked and what you disliked.
  8. Tap "Post" to publish your review.
