This wikiHow shows you how to change the language of the YouTube website. Changing the YouTube language will not change user-entered text, such as comments or video descriptions. It is not possible to change your YouTube language settings in the mobile app.

To step

1. Open YouTube. Go to https://www.youtube.com/ with your preferred web browser. This will open the YouTube homepage, if you are already logged in.
   • If you are not yet registered, click on Sign Up in the top right corner of the page, and enter your email address and password.
2. Click on your profile picture. You can find it in the top right corner of the YouTube homepage. A drop-down menu will appear.
3. click on Settings. You can find this option about halfway down the drop-down menu.
   • If you are using the classic version of YouTube, click the gear icon below your name.
4. Click on the menu Language. You can find this in the lower left corner of YouTube. A list of available languages ​​appears.
5. Select a language. Click on the language you want to use for YouTube. The page will be refreshed and your chosen language will be applied to all text of the site.

Tips

• If you are using the new version of YouTube on a desktop PC, click Language (instead of Settings) at the bottom of the drop-down menu of your profile, and select a language there.
• YouTube for mobile uses the default language of your mobile device.

Warnings

• You cannot change the language of the text entered by the user.
