This wikiHow shows you how to change the language of the YouTube website. Changing the YouTube language will not change user-entered text, such as comments or video descriptions. It is not possible to change your YouTube language settings in the mobile app.
To step
- Open YouTube. Go to https://www.youtube.com/ with your preferred web browser. This will open the YouTube homepage, if you are already logged in.
- If you are not yet registered, click on Sign Up in the top right corner of the page, and enter your email address and password.
- Click on your profile picture. You can find it in the top right corner of the YouTube homepage. A drop-down menu will appear.
- click on Settings. You can find this option about halfway down the drop-down menu.
- If you are using the classic version of YouTube, click the gear icon below your name.
- Click on the menu Language. You can find this in the lower left corner of YouTube. A list of available languages appears.
- Select a language. Click on the language you want to use for YouTube. The page will be refreshed and your chosen language will be applied to all text of the site.
Tips
- If you are using the new version of YouTube on a desktop PC, click Language (instead of Settings) at the bottom of the drop-down menu of your profile, and select a language there.
- YouTube for mobile uses the default language of your mobile device.
Warnings
- You cannot change the language of the text entered by the user.
