A training schedule is an excellent way to train and tone your muscles, get thinner and keep the skin from sagging due to aging. A healthy diet, plenty of water, and exercise can make you look years younger than you actually are. Facial exercise, or facial yoga, is a natural way to make your face look younger by toning muscles and reducing wrinkles. There are about 50 muscles in your face, and exercising these also helps reduce eye strain and relax the neck and facial muscles. Include this schedule in your daily routine and you will notice that your facial skin and muscles start to look tighter after just a few weeks. Read here how you can train the facial muscles.

To step

  1. Find a space in the house where you can be at ease and undisturbed for a while. Like many isometric exercises, exercises for your face can look and feel a bit strange at first. Sit upright in a chair, in good posture.
  2. Stretch your neck before starting the exercises. You should do all these movements at a slow pace, while taking a deep breath. Bend your head forward a few times and lift it up again.
    • Slowly move your chin from one shoulder blade to the other, along your chest.

    • Look over the shoulder for about 5 seconds on each side. Repeat this twice.

    • Tilt your head to the right, as if you want to rest your head on your shoulder. Hold for 10 seconds and then repeat on the left side. Return your head to a neutral position to begin the facial exercises.

  3. Look to the right without moving your head. Hold for 5 seconds. Then look to the left for another 5 seconds without moving your head.
    • Look up for 5 seconds. Look down for 5 seconds. Look obliquely in any direction for 5 seconds. Repeat this 2-10 times for each direction.

    • This eye workout can reduce drooping eyelids, and it can also help refresh your eyes after working at the computer or watching TV for a long time. You can also do this exercise with your eyes closed.

  4. Stick your tongue out as far as you can. Hold this position for 60 seconds.
  5. Lift your eyebrows and hold for 5 seconds. Open your eyes as far as you can and leave your mouth as if you disapprove of something. Repeat this 5 times.
  6. Look amazed with your eyes wide open. Try not to raise your eyebrows. Repeat this 5 times.
  7. Look at the ceiling. Pucker your lips as if you were going to kiss someone. Hold for 5 seconds and repeat 5 times.
    • Stick out your tongue 5 times while looking at the ceiling. This stretches and strengthens the neck muscles. Return your head to a neutral position to continue the exercises.

  8. Do deep breathing exercises. Pucker your lips every time you exhale and gently blow the air out of your lungs, as if you were blowing a kiss on someone. Do this for 30 seconds to 1 minute.
  9. Place 3 fingers on top of your right cheekbone. Press it gently. Smile to lift your cheekbones as far as possible.
    • Repeat this 3 times on each side for 5 seconds.

Tips

  • Wash your hands before starting the exercises. Touching your face can contaminate the skin, resulting in blackheads and blemishes.
