This wikiHow teaches you how to quickly add Snapchat friends using the "quick add" option. Quick add lists users who are in your phone's contacts or who have Snapchat friends in common with you.

Part 1 of 3: Grant access to contacts on iPhone or iPad

1. Open the settings of your iPhone. This is an app with a gray gear and can usually be found on the home screen.
2. Tap Snapchat. You can find this among your other apps on the bottom half of the page.
3. Slide the contacts knob to the adjustment position. It turns green. Now Snapchat can access all your phone contacts.

Part 2 of 3: Granting access to contacts on Android

1. Open the settings of your device. This is an app with a gear (⚙️) icon and can be found on your home screen.
2. Scroll down and tap Apps. This can be found under the "Device" menu.
3. Tap Permissions. This is the 3rd selection in the menu.
4. Slide the button next to "Contacts" to the custom position. It turns blue-green.
5. Tap the arrow to go back. It's in the top left corner. Now Snapchat can access the contacts on your device.

Part 3 of 3: Using Quick Add

1. Open Snapchat. This is a yellow app with a cartoon ghost in it. This will take you to a camera image.
2. Swipe down to open the user screen.
3. Tap Add Friends. This is located in the center of the screen and has an icon that looks like a person with a plus sign.
4. Tap the + Add button next to one add quickly user.
   • You can also get to the quick add option by going to the chat screen. This is the heading with the blue letters below your friends list.
   • If a "quick add name" has been added from your phone's contacts, his or her name will say "In my contacts".

Tips

• If you don't allow access to your contacts, quick add will still recommend users with mutual Snapchat friends.
• If you add someone via quick add, the friend request will say “Added via quick add”.

Warnings

• Make sure you know who a contact is before adding it. You may have more than one contact with the same name in your phone.
