Most Macintosh computers can burn CDs. It's easy enough if you need to burn a data CD, but a little more complicated if you need to burn a music CD. If you have iTunes and a good list of music, using the method described below, you can burn a CD of your favorite music quickly and relatively easily.

Steps

  1. 1 Open iTunes.
  2. 2 Create a new playlist by clicking the + button at the bottom left, or the N button, or File> New Playlist.
  3. 3 Name your playlist.
  4. 4 Drag the selected songs from the library to the playlist.
  5. 5 Reorder songs by dragging and dropping them. To do this, select the field with song numbers.
  6. 6 Insert a blank CD.
  7. 7 Click on the "Burn" button at the bottom of the page.
    • Some versions of iTunes do not have this option. If so, open the File menu and select Burn playlist to disc.
  8. 8 Select the settings you want.
  9. 9 Wait. iTunes will burn the music to CD. It may take a little time, it all depends on the speed of your processor. When the disc is burned, iTunes will indicate that the burning process is complete. The disc is ready to use.

Tips

  • Most CDs contain between 18-20 songs, that is, somewhere around 80 minutes of audio. iTunes will warn you if you try to write more to disc than you can.
  • You need an optical disc drive that can burn discs.
