This article will show you how to change your Facebook Messenger online status through the Messenger Android app.

Steps

1. 1 Launch Messenger by clicking on the blue chat icon with a white lightning bolt inside.
2. 2 Click on the People icon in the lower right corner of the screen.
3. 3 Tap the Online tab at the top of the screen.
4. 4 Slide the switch to the off position. When the toggle turns gray, you no longer see active users in Messenger.
