This article will show you how to log out of your Facebook Messenger account on iPhone / iPad.

Method 1 of 2: Using the Facebook app

1. 1 Launch the Facebook app. Click on the blue icon with a white letter "f" on the home screen.
   • You cannot sign out of your account in the Messenger app itself. This can only be done through the Facebook app.
2. 2 Tap the icon ☰. It is located in the lower right corner of the screen. A menu will open.
3. 3 Scroll down the page and click Settings and privacy. You will find this option at the bottom of the menu. A menu will open.
4. 4 Select from the menu Settings. A new page will open your account settings.
5. 5 Tap Security and Login. You will find this option under the "Security" section.
6. 6 Find the "Where you're signed in from" section. Here you will find all active sessions, including Facebook and Messenger accounts.
7. 7 Tap the icon ⋮ a Messenger session. In the "Where are you signed in" section, find the desired Messenger session and click on the indicated icon for that session. A menu will open.
8. 8 Select from the menu Exit. This will sign out of your Messenger account.

Method 2 of 2: How to Change Account

1. 1 Launch the Messenger app. Click on the blue speech cloud icon with a lightning bolt.
2. 2 Click on the tab the main. It's a house-shaped icon located in the lower left corner of the screen.A list of chats will open.
3. 3 Tap your profile picture in the left-right corner. Your profile will open on a new page.
4. 4 Scroll down the page and click Change account. A new page will open a list of available accounts.
5. 5 Click on Add account. This is how you can log in and add a new Messenger account.
6. 6 Sign in to another Facebook or Messenger account. This will change your account and automatically sign out of your current account.
