In Pokémon games, in the red and blue versions, the player has the option to select Bulbasaur at the beginning of the game. In the yellow version of the Pokémon game, however, only Pikachu can be selected. Don't worry, it will be possible to acquire a Bulbasaur later in the game. We'll tell you how to do it!

Steps

1. 1 Go to the city of Kerulean. After Moon Mountain, this is the first city you enter. Its leader is Misty.
   
   
2. 2 Make sure you have a seat on Bulbasaur. There should be a place for him in the team. If there is no room, you can store one Pokémon at the Pokémon Center in the city.
   
   
3. 3 Pikachu should be pleased. Talk to him. Turn to him and press button A. If he is happy with you, his heart will hang over his head. If he is not there, he will have to do a couple of things to make him feel good.
   
   
   • Use health boost potions on Pikachu. Even after his health is fully restored. Soon he will be pleased.
   • Help Pikachu level up. Then he will be pleased.
   • If you challenge the city leader, Pikachu will be pleased too.
4. 4 Go to Melanie's house. Now head to the house that is next to the Pokémon Center. See Melanie and Bulbasaur. Talk to her and she will tell you that she is looking after the Pokémon.
   
   
5. 5 Take Bulbasaur. She will see that you care about Pikachu and will ask if you would like to take Bulbasaur. Say yes. Take Bulbasaur.
   
   

Tips

• You can also trade Pokémon with Pokémon red, blue or yellow.
• Potions can be bought at the store.
• If, after five tries, Pikachu is still not happy, try again. Sooner or later he will be satisfied.
