This article will show you how to permanently delete your PayPal account.

Method 1 of 1: Deleting an Account

1. 1 Go to https://www.paypal.com. Enter https://www.paypal.com into the address bar of your browser and click ⏎ Return... Then click "Login" in the upper right corner of the page.
   • The account cannot be deleted in the PayPal mobile app.
2. 2 Sign in to PayPal. Enter the linked email address and password in the fields provided and click "Login".
   • Before you can delete an academic record, you must confirm it and send all funds to a bank account.
   • If you have any unresolved issues, such as a dispute or an uncompleted transaction, your account cannot be deleted until they are resolved.
3. 3 Click on ⚙️ in the upper right corner of the page.
4. 4 Click on the tab Check at the top of the page.
5. 5 Scroll down and press Close an account. This link is at the bottom of the Account Settings section.
6. 6 Follow the directions on the screen.
7. 7 Select the reason for closing the account and click Proceed.
8. 8 Click on Close an account. Your PayPal account will be deleted.
   • It will no longer be possible to restore a deleted account.

Tips

Warnings

• Once deleted, your PayPal account cannot be recovered. All scheduled and pending transactions will be canceled. The account cannot be deleted as long as there are debts, unresolved issues or money on the balance in the account.
