Method 1 of 2: The Shampoo Method

This method is effective if the hair is not heavily soiled with dye, just a few strands.

1. 1 Dampen your hair with warm water or you can take a warm shower. Massage the part of the scalp where the hair is stained with paint. This will help soften dried paint.
2. 2 Apply a small amount of shampoo to your hair and massage gently into your scalp and hair. Leave the shampoo on your hair for 3 to 5 minutes before rinsing it off.
3. 3 Take a fine-toothed comb and gently run through your hair to remove any softened paint.
4. 4 Once all the paint has been removed, rinse your hair thoroughly with water.

Method 2 of 2: The Oil Method

If the "shampoo method" does not work, you can try removing the paint with oil, which is most effective for stubborn stains.

1. 1 Take some olive oil or baby oil. Pour the oil into your palms and rub it between your palms.
2. 2 Use your fingers to rub hair soiled with dye. The oil should cover the hair, but not drip from it.
