VLC media player is a cross-platform media player with a built-in server for streaming. This article will teach you how to use VLC media player to listen to internet radio.

Steps

1. 1 Launch VLC. This is the most important step for our future actions.

Method 1 of 2: Connect Directly

1. 1 Open the Media dropdown menu.
2. 2 Select Open URL.
3. 3 Enter the station URL in the address bar.
4. 4 Click the Play button.

Method 2 of 2: Finding Stations

1. 1 In the View drop-down menu, select the Playlist line.
2. 2 Look at the left side of the window. You will see a list of available resources, next to which there is an arrow expanding the line.
3. 3 There are various items on the list, incl.h. Internet TV. But in our case, we are looking for Internet radio, so select one of the lists of Internet radio broadcasts.
4. 4 After that, a list of available playlists will appear in the window.
5. 5 Browse the list of playlists or music genres, double-click the left mouse button on the selected playlist and, after buffering, playback should start. You can then switch between stations or playlist tracks.
