In this article, we are going to show you how to download Instagram videos on your Android device. To download a publicly available video, you can use a free application that is installed through the Play Store. Remember that you cannot download videos from a private account, even if you and the owner of this account are subscribed to each other.

Steps

Method 1 of 2: Using Video Downloader

1. 1 Install the Video Downloader for Instagram app. It can be used to download public Instagram videos. To install this app:
   • Open Play Store .
   • Tap the search bar.
   • Enter Video Downloader for Instagram.
   • Click “Video Downloader for Instagram” in the dropdown menu.
   • Tap Install> Accept.
2. 2 Launch the Instagram app. Click on the multi-colored camera icon. If you are already logged in, your Instagram page will open.
   • If you are not already signed in to your account, enter your email address (or username or phone number) and password.
3. 3 Find the video you want. Scroll down the page and find the video you want to download to your Android device.
   • The video must be public (that is, not from a private account) and published, not added to stories.
4. 4 Tap ⋮. You will find this icon in the upper right corner of your video post. A menu will open.
5. 5 Click on Copy link. This option is on the menu. The video link will be copied to the clipboard of the device.
   • If you don't see the Copy Link option on the menu, tap Share Link> Copy to Clipboard. If the menu does not have any of the above options, the video will not be able to download.
6. 6 Launch the Video Downloader for Instagram app. Click the downward arrow icon on a multicolored background.
7. 7 Click on Allow in the request window. This will allow the application to download the video to the device memory.
8. 8 Paste the link (if needed). In most cases, Video Downloader for Instagram will automatically detect the copied link and open a preview window at the top of the screen; otherwise, click Paste at the top of the screen.
9. 9 Tap the Share icon . You will find it on the right side of the screen.
10. 10 Click on Download Image (Download image). It's in the Share menu. The video will download to your Android device.
    • A message may appear on the screen. In this case, tap the "X" in one of its corners.
11. 11 Find the downloaded video on your device. For this:
    • Photo application - Tap the icon for that app, then tap Albums> Downloads. The downloaded video will appear on the screen. If you don't have the Photos app on your devices (like you do on Samsung devices), look for videos in the Videos app.
    • File Manager - start the file manager (for example, ES File Explorer), select the storage ("Internal memory" or "SD card"), click on the "Download" folder and find the downloaded video in it.

Method 2 of 2: Using SaveFromWeb

1. 1 Launch the Instagram app. Click on the multi-colored camera icon. If you are already logged in, your Instagram page will open.
   • If you are not already signed in to your account, enter your email address (or username or phone number) and password.
2. 2 Find the video you want. Scroll down the page and find the video you want to download to your Android device.
   • The video must be public (that is, not from a private account) and published, not added to stories.
3. 3 Tap ⋮. You will find this icon in the upper right corner of your video post. A menu will open.
4. 4 Click on Copy link. This option is on the menu. The video link will be copied to the clipboard of the device.
   • If you don't see the Copy Link option on the menu, tap Share Link> Copy to Clipboard. If the menu does not have any of the above options, the video will not be able to download.
5. 5 Start Chrome . Click the Home button to minimize Instagram, and then click on the Chrome browser icon, which looks like a red-yellow-green-blue ball.
6. 6 Tap the address bar. It's at the top of the Chrome page. The text that is in the address bar will be highlighted.
7. 7 Go to the SaveFromWeb service website. Enter savefromweb.com and press "Enter" or "Find".
8. 8 Tap the “Paste Instagram Video” text box. It's in the middle of the page. The onscreen keyboard opens.
9. 9 Press and hold the text box. The menu bar will open.
10. 10 Click on Insert. It's on the menu bar. The copied Instagram video link will appear in the text box.
11. 11 Tap Download (Download). It's to the right of the text box. The video will open in a preview window.
12. 12 Download the video. Click “⋮” in the lower right corner of the video preview window and then select “Download” from the menu. The Chrome mobile browser will download the video to the Download folder on your Android device.
13. 13 Find the downloaded video on your device. For this:
    • Photo application - Tap the icon for that app, then tap Albums> Downloads. The downloaded video will appear on the screen. If you don't have the Photos app on your devices (like you do on Samsung devices), look for videos in the Videos app.
    • File Manager - start the file manager (for example, ES File Explorer), select the storage ("Internal memory" or "SD card"), click on the "Download" folder and find the downloaded video in it.
    • Notification panel - Swipe down from the top of the screen, and then tap the "Download complete" notification.

Tips

• As a rule, you will not be able to download a promotional video.

Warnings

• Downloading Instagram videos may violate Instagram's terms of use, and distributing someone else's videos on your own behalf violates copyright laws.
• You cannot download videos from a private account.
