1 Fold a piece of paper diagonally on both sides. This creates an X on paper (you can write a message in the middle if you want).

2 Fold the paper in half.

3 Fold the top right corner as shown in the picture. Repeat on the other side. Press down well on the folded corners.

4 Fold the flaps up. Flip the paper over and repeat to make a diamond.

5 Fold the left and right corners towards the center of the diamond. Repeat on the other side.

6 Tuck the loose sashes into the folds you just made. Repeat with all four flaps.

7 Turn the paper so that you can see the ends that did not have flaps. Find the hole in the center of this side.

8 Inflate the balloon through the hole. The balloon should inflate, just remember to keep the flaps tucked in, and you may need to loosen the other flaps a little to get the ball round.

Tips

• Follow the instructions. If you are wrong, it will be difficult to fix everything.
• If you can't make a good ball, don't fix it, but make a new one.
• If you want your balloon to be waterproof, put some foil in the balloon (not a plastic bag, as it might tear from the weight of the water). You can throw water balls at each other for a water war.
• If you have written something in a balloon, hold it against the light to see it written.
• If you fail, start over.
• You can use wax paper to keep the ball holding water.
• You can tuck the plastic inside to make the ball waterproof.
• To make a water bomb out of a ball, fill it with water through the hole.
• If you are unable to refill the shutters, use scotch tape.
• You can play a water war with them by throwing water balls at each other.

Warnings

• You could cut yourself on the paper.
• When playing water war, do not throw balls in the face, otherwise you can seriously injure the person.
