While it looks like a delicate glass or crystal vase, it doesn't actually break and can be recycled in the future!

Steps

1. 1 Mark and cut the bottle in half, about 7.5 to 8 cm above where the ribbed rim will be, to create a clean edge.
2. 2 Measure and make even horizontal cuts all over the bottle. Then cut each segment in half and then in half again to create thin, even stripes.
3. 3 Press gently and fold all strips outward.
4. 4 Press the upside-down bottle onto a flat surface so that all edges fold equally.
5. 5 Weave the end of one strip over the next strip and under the next two after the first. Fold and fold so that the end is there as shown in the picture.
6. 6 Fold and fold the next strip, only this time pass it over the next two strips and under the third strip.
7. 7 Wrap and fold the third strip in the same way as you folded the first.
8. 8 Continue around the entire circle, following the pattern, until you have three strips left. When you get to the last three strips, simply thread them under the next strip to complete the ribbed rim.

Tips

• By heating the bottle, you can be sure that the bottle will not unravel.
• If you put glass beads and pebbles in a vase and let light pass through it, you will have a more interesting light effect.
• Since plastic is lightweight, place glass beads and decorative stones in the vase to add weight.
• Maintain the regularity of the folds.
