2 Make a cracker launch door. Glitter poppers explode when someone pulls sharply on the string tied to the launch door. Cut a square of thin wrapping paper that is large enough to cover the bottom of the cardboard tube (about 7.5 cm on a side). Trace the contours of the round end of the tube on a piece of cardboard and cut out the resulting circle. Use hot glue to glue this circle down the center of the brown paper square. Wait a few seconds for the glue to harden. Take a pair of scissors or a needle and poke a hole in the center of the circle to insert a piece of cord or culinary string as long as your hand. 3 Attach the door to the cardboard tube. Tie a bead to the end of the cord before gluing the door paper and cardboard to the tube. Make sure the bead is on the inside of the door. Use hot glue to glue the edges of the door wrapping paper to the sides of the end of the tube. At this point, your cracker will look like a tube with one end sealed with a tail sticking out of it. 4 Decorate the tube and fill it with shiny confetti. Use your creativity to decorate the cracker. It can be wrapped with colored paper or metal foil, tapes or serpentine can be glued to it. Before plugging the back end of the cracker, take a funnel or measuring cup and use it to fill ½ or ¾ of glitter into the tube. 5 Decorate the cracker with a cone tip. Use the cone tip to turn the cracker into a rocket. Draw a circle with a diameter of 8.3 mm on the cardboard. Cut out a circle with scissors and make a notch in it from edge to center. Pull the edges of the notch together until they overlap about 1.3 cm to form a cone out of a circle. Secure the cone with a stapler. - To attach the cracker tip, first make two small holes in the walls of the cardboard tube at its open end. Pull a piece of cord through them. Tie the ends of the cord together and thread them through a bead to help keep them centered. Then thread the ends of the cord from the inside through the top of the cone. You can now hang the cracker from the ceiling or tie it to a garland.
6 Open the cracker. Pull firmly on the cord attached to the starter door.The door will open and a rain of glitter will rain down on the unsuspecting party guests. 7 Transform the hanging cracker into a candy cracker. Modify the trap slightly so that it can be used as a souvenir for guests, rather than just hanging it up. The candy cracker explodes with sparkles not when the string is pulled, but when the ends of the cracker are abruptly torn in opposite directions. Wrap the cardboard tube with tissue paper. The sheet of wrapping paper should be large enough to protrude ten centimeters from both ends of the tube. Next, cover the body of the cracker itself (on top of the wrapping paper) with cardboard, heavy paper, or metal foil. Then twist one end of the wrapping paper at the cracker and tie it with tape. Take a funnel and fill the cracker with shiny confetti. Finally, twist and tape the other end of the cracker. - To detonate a trap, you need to firmly grasp its ends and pull them to the sides. Instruct guests to break the firecracker as hard as possible so that the contents scatter and not just spill out.
Method 2 of 4: Clapperboard stick
1 Gather all the materials you need. Crafting a clapperboard is easy, so it's great to spice up a birthday or New Years party. You will need the following: - paper tubes (multi-colored);
- small sequins (multi-colored);
- scissors;
- Scotch;
- paper;
- bowl (optional);
- glue gun and glue sticks suitable for it.
- 2 Cut the paper tubes in half. First bend the tubes in half and then cut them along the fold. You will fill these tubes with glitter, and if you cut the tubes in half, the crackers will be double the size. Short tube crackers are easier to handle and open than whole tube crackers.
- 3 Seal the straw on one side. You need to glue the tube at one end and leave the other end open temporarily. Use a few drops of hot glue to seal the tube. Now it will be easier for you to fill the tube with sparkles. Just let the glue harden first.
- 4 Pour glitter into the tube. Take the straw vertically in your hand and hold it over the bowl with the open end up. Roll a funnel out of a sheet of paper. Insert the prepared funnel into the tube to fill it with glitter. When the straw is full, pour any spilled glitter back into the container in which you purchased it. Remove excess glitter from the top of the straw. Seal the end with hot glue and let it cure.
- 5 Blow up the cracker. Pull on both ends of the tube to break it. The result should be a small explosion of sparkles. Shake both tube halves to shake out any remaining glitter.
- During the party, hand out these firecrackers to all the guests and set a countdown for everyone to blow them up at the same time.
Method 3 of 4: Peanut Hull Flapper
1 Gather all the materials you need. Empty peanut shells make great improvised firecrackers. They are lightweight, compact and well complement small surprise packages. You will need the following: - a pack of inshell peanuts;
- scissors;
- small sequins (multi-colored);
- glue gun and glue sticks suitable for it;
- acrylic paints (optional);
- brushes (optional).
- 2 Open the peanut shells. Use scissors to carefully cut open the peanut shells. Place the nut lengthwise between the scissor blades and squeeze gently. When the shell is cracked, use your fingers to separate it in half and remove the peanuts. Repeat this process until you have a sufficient number of peanut crackers. Make sure that all the shells are arranged in pairs.
- Throw away any cracked shells in the trash.
- 3 Fill the shell with glitter. Place two paired shell halves in front of you and fill one of them with glitter. Repeat the process with all the remaining shells.
- 4 Glue the shells together. Apply hot glue to the edges of the glitter-filled shell half. Place the edges of the second empty half evenly on the first half and press down. Let the glue harden.
- When the shell is glued together, it can be painted with acrylic paint. You can even pour the paint into a plastic bowl or cup and add some glitter to it. Then your nondescript peanuts will turn into a bright shiny cracker.
- 5 Blow up the cracker. Give the peanut cracker to a friend. Ask him to grasp both ends of the shell and break it sharply. The clapperboard will explode into a cloud of glitter.
Method 4 of 4: Balloon Clapper
1 Gather all the materials you need. Glitter confetti balloons will be a great decoration for an adult or children's birthday party. When they work out their purpose in the form of decorations, they can be burst to show everything around with sparkles. You will need the following: - balloons (different colors);
- shiny confetti (multicolored);
- plastic funnel;
- helium balloon (optional).
- 2 Pour shiny confetti into the balloon. Insert a funnel into the neck of the balloon and use it to pour the desired amount of glitter inside.
- Using the same technology, you can fill a ball with ordinary paper confetti. Self-cut small circles from colored wrapping paper can be used as confetti. Take a handful of such circles, fold them in half and again in half. Use the thin end of a plastic funnel to push the resulting lump into the ball.
- 3 Inflate the balloon. Inflate the balloon either with your mouth or with helium (if you want it to fly). Then tie the neck of the balloon with a knot. You can also tie a string or ribbon to it for beauty.
- Prepare the balloons at least an hour before the party starts. This will give the balls enough time for the static electricity to force the confetti / glitter to spread over the walls.
- 4 Pop the balloon. Poke the ball with a pin or needle to make it burst. The sparkles contained within it will scatter in all directions.
- If your balloons are filled not with helium, but with simple air, attach them to a garland. The balls can either be tied or glued to the garland with tape. The finished garland should be stretched along the ceiling or wall. During the party, guests need to hand out pins and ask them to pierce the balls so that the glitter falls on everyone and everything.
Tips
- You can fill any hollow objects with shiny confetti, for example, plastic containers from Kinder surprises or Play-Doh balls molded from hardening plasticine.
- Whatever crafts you do with glittering confetti and glitter, spread a sheet of newspaper as you work so that you can easily collect excess glitter later. If you accidentally spill glitter, fold the sheet of paper and sprinkle the glitter back into the container.
- For extra fun and extra sparkle, fill your holiday piñata with not only candy but glittery confetti as well.
- Be prepared to tidy up if you spill confetti during the cracker-making process or after the cracker has been detonated.
- To remove glitter from any surface, roll a ball of Play-Doh over it.
- To remove glitter from carpets and furniture, use the adhesive side of regular tape or masking tape.
- Use the sticky cleaning roller to remove glitter from clothing. This must be done before you start washing your clothes in the washing machine.
- Let your imagination run wild as you decorate your firecrackers. For example, they can be coated with glue and sprinkled with glitter.
Warnings
- If you have pets or if you are going to blow up a firecracker on the street, you must be sure that the glitter you use will not cause any harm to the animals if they accidentally swallow them.
- If the party is being held in someone else's house or apartment, ask permission from the owner of the premises before blowing up firecrackers. You should also take full responsibility for the subsequent cleaning and repair of the damage.
- Never use glitter crackers for revenge or mean jokes.
