Since September 11, 2001, airport security has been tightened and security has become an unpleasant part of any travel: long lines, intrusive officers and grumpy, disgruntled passengers. You will learn how easy it is to go through pre-flight control in this article.

Steps

1. 1 Prepare ahead of time. Start preparing before your trip to the airport.
   • Comfortable shoes. Wear moccasins or any other footwear that can be easily removed. In addition, the shoes should still be comfortable enough, as there will be long queues.
   • Try not to wear clothes with metal inserts or other accessories, as you will have to remove them all while passing through the metal detector. Also, don't keep anything metallic in your pockets.
   • Dispense liquids and gels. All types of liquids that you take with you in your carry-on baggage must not exceed 100 ml. All vials of liquids and gels should be placed in bags with a plastic zipper. There are exceptions to this rule - baby food or liquid medications.
   • Collect all your belongings neatly so that if something happens, you can safely open the bag, check things and quickly put everything back.
   • Smuggling. Check in advance the things that you are going to take with you - are they allowed for transportation in checked baggage or carry-on luggage? Otherwise, you will have to throw them out, or you will be summoned for questioning, or a criminal case will be brought against you.
2. 2 Keep your boarding pass and passport in your hand or in your pocket. Get them out and prepare them in advance, even before presenting them to the security officer. The queue will advance faster if everyone prepares documents in advance. Passengers are often annoyed when people start to fumble in things and get documents at the very last moment.
3. 3 While queuing, read the instructions at the checkpoints. These instructions remind you of some things that passengers usually forget.
4. 4 Once you pass the checkpoint, put your boarding pass and passport as far away as possible. You can put your boarding pass in your pocket, as it will still be checked, but it is better to put your passport in your bag for security reasons.
5. 5 Unload bags as well as carry-on baggage onto the introscope belt. Some airports require you to remove your computer and bags of liquids from your bag.
6. 6 Take off your shoes. According to the requirements of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation, passengers must take off their shoes when passing through a metal detector station. Usually, with this procedure, there is nowhere to sit. People will constantly walk around you, and the seats are too far from the bags. Wear shoes that you can easily take off and put on again. If the shoes have laces, untie them in advance and put them inside the shoes. So you can easily remove them and put them on the introscope tape.
7. 7 Remove all unnecessary accessories and clothing, as well as metal objects, outerwear and hats. It all depends on the requirements of the airport.
8. 8 Go to the metal detector hospital after it is your turn. If they want to check you further, don't be nervous and be so kind.
9. 9 Collect all your belongings. After making sure that you have taken all your belongings, try to get out of the control zone as soon as possible to make room for the rest of the passengers.

Tips

• While you are in line, prepare all the things that will need to go through the check. Take your computer out of your bag, take off your shoes, and so on. Put all your belongings in special baskets.When you come to the security checkpoint, all you need to do is put a basket with things on the tape. If you are flying with another person, ask him to hold things, and also help him yourself.
• Stay calm and don't act suspicious, especially if you've been subjected to additional security checks.
  • If you are asked to go through for additional security, do not be rude, behave with respect. Workers in this area are just doing their job.
• Try not to keep coins in your pockets. You will have to put all this on the table during the search. Please note that you will have to take off your shoes, your carry-on will be carefully checked, and fiddling with coins will take time.
• Put small items such as coins, watches, phone in your coat pocket before going through the control. After passing the control, it will be possible to distribute everything to the seats already in the waiting room.
• Put all the change in your wallet. Place items that can be checked in the top of the bag so that if necessary they can be easily reached and then put back.

Warnings

• You shouldn't joke when going through control, especially use the words "bomb" or "terrorist" in jokes. Jokes like these are taken seriously and you can have serious problems.
• Keep your boarding pass and passport in hand. Do not put them in your luggage.
• Follow instructions from security personnel. Remember that all these measures are for your own safety.
• If you are a transit flight, be prepared to search for a connecting flight check-in location and re-drop and claim your baggage.
