There are several steps to be taken to become Blue Devils and be admitted to Duke University. The university does not determine the average grade required for passing, does not require any specific marks for tests. You also do not need to attend school clubs and events. But at the same time, Duke University traditionally enrolls the most qualified students. On average, only 13% of applicants recommend for admission. The introductory campaign consists of submitting official statements and recommendations, writing an essay and passing special tests. Method 1 of 2: General Admission

1 Get your high school education through an expanded curriculum, choose subjects taught at a high level, don't forget extracurricular activities, and keep your grades above average.
- Study at least three exact sciences, including mathematics for at least three years, as well as a foreign language for at least 4 years, and social sciences. Take electives that demonstrate your desire to grow and deepen your knowledge.
- Take advanced classes and honors courses. Duke University is looking for such students.
- Participate in extracurricular activities. At the same time, Duke University's admissions office warns students against participating in too many events. The university leadership emphasizes that quality is always much more important than quantity.
- You must be in the top 10% of graduates in your class. This is not a prerequisite for admission, but a very significant number of Duke University students have received this honor.
2 Take the required tests. To enter Duke University, you must pass the standardized test for admission to US educational institutions (hereinafter SAT) or American Testing (hereinafter ACT).
- Get a minimum of 29 ACT points if you want to study science or art, or 32 points or more if you are interested in engineering.
- Achieve the minimum passing SAT scores: 680 for speaking, 690 for math and 660 for writing.

3 Complete the standard application. The Standard Statement is an approved form that is used by many colleges and universities in the United States of America. You will need to provide your contact information, information about where you previously studied, and so on.
4 Fill out the additional form for Duke University students. You will need to answer questions related to the university: do you have any relatives who graduated from Duke University? Does any of your relatives work at Duke University? Also in this form there are optional questions like "Why do you want to study at this particular university?"
5 Select a time to submit your documents. You can choose Early Decision or Ordinary Submission. To apply for the early procedure, you will need to submit a First Quarter Report. And if you are recommended for admission, you will no longer be able to apply to another university.
6 Submit a receipt for payment of the application fee to Duke University (the fee is non-refundable).
7 Contact your school counselor and ask them to send information about your school performance, as well as your personal file to Duke University.
8 Attach the recommendation of two teachers to your application. Duke University requires a recommendation from teachers who have taught with you in the past two years.

1 Complete the Standard Transfer Application and Duke University Student Supplement Form.
2Pay a non-refundable application fee.
3 Send documents that relate to your high school education to Duke University. Contact the school administration for the required documentation.
4 Submit your personal file for consideration. Ask the administration of your college or university to send your personal files, as well as information about your progress to Duke University.
5Get at least two references from professors.
6 Write an essay that will provide comprehensive answers to the questions, as well as by which you can get an idea of your personality. Essay topics are different each year, but as a rule, you will need to comment on what you have recently read.
