1 Choose a mixing container. You can use a saucepan, bowl, or even a glass jar. Once you have prepared the foam, you will transfer it to another container.
  • 2 Select the soap and pour it into the container. Soap is the basis of good bubble bath lather. You will need ½ cup (112 milliliters) of any liquid hand or body soap to be gentle. Soap may or may not be scented. If you are using an unscented soap, you can add essential oil to it later. If you don't have liquid hand or body soap on hand, any of the following will work:
    • Dishwashing soap, scented or not
    • Liquid Castile Soap, Flavored or Not
    • Mild shampoo, such as baby shampoo
  • 3 Add some honey to the container. Honey not only smells good, but it also moisturizes the skin. Enough 1 tablespoon of honey. It should be transparent and not very thick.
  • 4 Consider adding some light oil. If you have dry skin, you can add 1 tablespoon of light almond oil. If you do not have this oil, you can replace it with the following:
    • Olive oil
    • Almond oil
    • Jojoba oil
    • Milk
  • 5 Add egg white to the solution. It may sound a little odd, but egg white will make the lather fluffier and more stable. Take a chicken egg, separate the white from the yolk and add it to the solution. You can separate the white from the yolk as follows:
    • Break the egg in half so that the yolk is in one of the halves. Holding both halves over a bowl, roll the yolk between them. Each time you roll, some of the protein will drip into the bowl. Continue until all the protein is in it. The yolk can then be discarded or stored for other purposes, such as cooking or hair mask.
  • 6 You can also add some essential oil. If you want to combine your bath with aromatherapy, add 5 drops of your favorite essential oil to the solution. This will give the foam an amazing aroma and allow you to relax after a hard day. Here are some great bath oils:
    • chamomile
    • Lavender
    • Pink geranium
    • Sandalwood
    • Vanilla
  • 7 Mix the ingredients. Putting all the ingredients in one vessel and stir gently.Do not stir too vigorously or the soap and egg whites will start to foam.
  • 8 Pour the prepared mixture into a suitable container. The bubble bath can be stored in any tight-fitting container. For this purpose, you can use a glass jar or bottle with a screw cap, or close the glass bottle with a stopper.
    • Sign the container with its contents.
    • Decorate the container with colored tape or beads.
  • 9 Store foam properly. The foam contains egg white, which limits its shelf life. When you are not using foam, put it in the refrigerator and try to use it within a few days.
  • Part 2 of 4: Making Veggie Bubble Bath

    1. 1 You can also make vegetarian bubble baths. Egg whites make the lather fluffier and honey moisturizes your skin, but they are not essential ingredients; you can prepare bubble bath without them. This section explains how to do this.
    2. 2 Choose a mixing container. A saucepan, bowl, or even a glass jar will work. Later, you will pour the finished mixture into another vessel.
    3. 3 Pour soap into a container. You will need 1 ½ cup (337 milliliters) of liquid Castile soap. You can use scented or unscented soap. If you choose unscented soap, you can add essential oil to it later. If you do not have liquid castile soap, you can use another liquid soap or shampoo instead, but they may not be olive oil based or vegetarian. Here are some options:
      • Mild, odorless dish soap
      • Baby shampoo or other mild shampoo
      • Liquid hand soap, scented or not
      • Liquid body soap, scented or not
    4. 4 Add glycerin and sugar. Measure out 2 tablespoons of vegetable glycerin and ½ tablespoon of sugar. Add them to the soap. Sugar and glycerin will make the lather thicker and more stable.
      • Keep in mind that a homemade solution will have less effective and fluffy foam than a store-bought one.
    5. 5 Add essential oils if desired. While not necessary, the essential oil will make your bath more pleasant and aromatic, and you can relax better with aromatherapy. Here are some great bath oils:
      • chamomile
      • Lavender
      • Pink geranium
      • Sandalwood
      • Vanilla
    6. 6 Mix the ingredients. Stir the solution gently with a fork or spoon. Don't stir it too much, or the soap will start to foam.
    7. 7 Place the mixture in a tightly sealed container. Pour the bubble bath into a sealable container, using a funnel if necessary. You can use any tight-fitting container, such as a glass jar or bottle with a screw cap, or a bottle with a cork.
      • Sign the container with its contents.
      • Decorate the container with colored tape or beads.
      • During storage, glycerin may sink to the bottom of the container. This is normal, as glycerin is heavier than soap and water. Just shake and swirl the container with the solution before use.
    8. 8 Let the bath foam sit. Wait 24 hours before using the prepared foam for the solution to infuse.

Part 3 of 4: Other bath foam formulations

    1. 1 Add vanilla and honey to the lather for a sweet note. Vanilla honey bubble bath is quite popular, and it's understandable why. It combines the sweetness of honey and vanilla extract. The foam also contains almond oil, which makes it nourishing and beneficial to the skin. To make foam you will need:
      • ½ cup (112 ml) light almond oil
      • ½ cup (112 milliliters) mild liquid hand or body soap
      • ¼ cups (56 milliliters) honey
      • 1 egg white
      • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
    2. 2 Add lavender to the lather. You can put a small amount of dried lavender in a container with a solution, which will give the foam a pleasant relaxing scent and color it.To make lavender foam, you will need the following ingredients:
      • 1 cup (225 milliliters) clean, unscented dish soap
      • 2/3 cup (150 ml) liquid glycerin
      • 4 tablespoons of water
      • 2 tablespoons of salt
      • 5 to 15 drops of your favorite essential oil (use an oil that pairs well with lavender)
      • Several dried lavender stems
    3. 3 Prepare a lather with a sweet scent. You can create a lather that smells like orange ice cream using a combination of orange-scented soaps and extracts. After mixing all the ingredients, let the solution sit for 24 hours before using it. You will need the following:
      • 1/2 cup (112 ml) castile soap (try using orange-scented soap)
      • ¼ cups (56 milliliters) distilled water
      • ¼ cup (56 milliliters) glycerin
      • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
      • 1 tablespoon orange extract
      • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
    4. 4 Try mixing essential oils. You can create your own original scent by mixing essential oils and adding them to the foam solution. Be sure to stir the foam solution before adding essential oils. Here are some of the possible scents:
      • Lavender Lemon: 5 drops of lavender, 4 drops of lemon and 1 drop of chamomile oil.
      • Citrus-floral: 5 drops of bergamot, 4 drops of orange and 1 drop of rose geranium, ylang-ylang or jasmine oil.
      • Lavender and spices: 5 drops of lavender oil, 4 drops of patchouli or sandalwood oil, 1 drop of clove oil (not recommended for sensitive skin).
      • Rose Dream: 3 drops of absolute rose oil, 2 drops of palmarose oil, 1 drop of rose geranium oil.
      • Cool and fresh: 5 drops of eucalyptus and 5 drops of peppermint oil.
      • Relaxing Lavender: 5 drops of lavender and 5 drops of bergamot oil.
      • Soothing Rose: 6 drops of lavender, 3 drops of geranium and 3 drops of rose oil.

Part 4 of 4: Using bubble bath

    1. 1 Start pouring water into the tub. Close the drain plug and start drawing water. Adjust the water temperature to your comfort. Let the water run for a few minutes. Don't get a full bath just yet.
    2. 2 Pour the foam solution under running water. Measure out about ¼ cup (56.25 milliliters) of the solution and pour it into the tub. Try to pour the solution directly under the running water to create a foam. At the same time, a large number of bubbles should appear in the bathtub, forming a lush foam.
    3. 3 Fill the bathtub to a suitable level. Let the water flow until it fills the tub the way you want. Keep in mind that the more water there is in the bath, the longer it will stay warm.
    4. 4 Stir the water if necessary. To create extra foam, dip your hand into the water and quickly move it back and forth. It's okay if some of the water splashes out. After a while, you will see that the foam has become thicker.
      • Keep in mind, however, that a homemade mixture may produce slightly less foam than a store-bought mixture.
    5. 5 Get in the tub and submerge yourself in the water. Leaning against the sides of the tub, lower yourself into the water. You can take a book with you, or just close your eyes and relax. Spend 20-30 minutes in the bath.

    Tips

    • While in the bath, listen to soothing music.
    • Light a few candles and turn off the lights to create a relaxing atmosphere in your bathroom.
    • While in the bath, do something relaxing: meditation, reading, pedicure.
    • Keep in mind that most homemade mixes will produce less foam than commercially available products because they use surfactants to increase foam.

    Warnings

    • Taking too long in the bath will dry out your skin.
    • If you light candles, watch them. Do not leave burning candles unattended.
    • Do not lock the bathroom door from the inside: you can slip, fall and injure yourself, so it is best if the door can be opened from the outside to help you if needed.
    • If you are a woman, be aware that foam can cause vaginal irritation.
    • Do not use foam or take hot baths during pregnancy - this can lead to complications.

    What do you need

    • Mixing bowl
    • Fork or spoon
    • Large enough container for storing the finished mixture
