Ingredients
- Pasta
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1/4 - 1/2 teaspoon chili powder [or to taste]
- Water
- Fresh tomatoes or 135 gr. tomato paste
- Lemon
- Fresh cilantro or other greens
- Red onion
- 2-3 cloves of garlic
- 1/4 tablespoon vegetable oil
- Salt
- Pepper
- Meat or chicken bouillon cube
- Bread
Steps
- 1 Boil water and add about 1/2 cup pasta. Add a teaspoon of salt, meat or chicken stock cube. Let the pasta simmer until tender. When the pasta is done, drain and set aside.
- 2 While the pasta is boiling, heat the oil in a skillet. Add chopped onion and garlic, stir well and fry until golden brown.
- 3 Add tomatoes or tomato paste, ground chili, ground cumin and ground coriander and mix well. Fry, stirring occasionally, until the sauce is thick.
- 4 Add pasta, salt and pepper and mix thoroughly. While stirring, leave on low heat for a few more minutes, and then turn off the heat.
- 5 Drizzle with lemon juice, garnish with fresh cilantro (or other herbs) and serve with bread or toast.
Tips
- Add some hot water to the sauce if it is too thick.
- You can put some cheese on top of the hot toast served with spicy pasta.
Warnings
- Do not fry the onions and garlic for too long.
- Be careful when adding hot chili powder so that the dish doesn't get too spicy.
- Do not store pasta or sauce for longer than 2-3 days, try to eat everything as early as possible.
