This article will show you how to create a command block (a block that executes certain commands) in Minecarft. This can be done in the computer and mobile versions of the game. To create a valid command block, you need to go to creative mode and enable cheat code support.The command block cannot be created in the console version of Minecraft.

Steps

Method 1 of 2: Computer (Minecraft)

  1. 1 Start Minecraft. To do this, double-click on the icon for this game. Then click Play, Play, Login, or a similar button (if prompted).
  2. 2 Click on Single player game. This button is at the top of the main Minecraft window.
    • You can also select Multiplayer, but in this case, you first need to set up a multiplayer game on your own server.

  10. 10 Enter give player command_block in the console. Replace "player" with your character's name.
    • For example, if the character name is "potatoSkin", enter give potatoSkin command_block.
  11. 11 Click on ↵ Enter. The command will be executed, and a command block will appear in the character's hand.
  12. 12 Place the command unit on the ground. Right click on the ground while the character is holding the command block.

  16. 16 Enter the command. Click the "+" in the upper right part of the window, enter the command and click the "-" in the upper right corner of the screen.
  17. 17 Close the command block window. Click the "x" in the upper right corner of the screen. You have now set up your command block.
    • If you selected the Redstone Needed option, move the red dust to the command block to start the command block.
