This article will show you how to create a command block (a block that executes certain commands) in Minecarft. This can be done in the computer and mobile versions of the game. To create a valid command block, you need to go to creative mode and enable cheat code support.The command block cannot be created in the console version of Minecraft.

Steps

Method 1 of 2: Computer (Minecraft)

1. 1 Start Minecraft. To do this, double-click on the icon for this game. Then click Play, Play, Login, or a similar button (if prompted).
2. 2 Click on Single player game. This button is at the top of the main Minecraft window.
   • You can also select Multiplayer, but in this case, you first need to set up a multiplayer game on your own server.
3. 3 Click on Create a new world. You will find this option in the lower right side of the window.
   • If you have already created a world in creative mode and activated cheat codes in it, click on that world and then click "Play in the selected world" and go to the step "Click /».
4. 4 Enter the name of the world. Do this on the "World Name" line.
5. 5 Double click on Survival game mode. The line will first display "Game Mode: Hardcore" and then "Game Mode: Creative". Do this because Command Blocks are only available in Creative Mode.
   • Command Blocks can also be found in Survival Mode, but they cannot be used.
6. 6 Click on Setting up the world. It's near the bottom of the window.
7. 7 Click on Use Cheats Off. The line will display "Use of cheats: On", that is, now support for cheat codes is enabled.
   • If the line displays "Use of cheats: On", support for cheat codes is already activated.
8. 8 Click on Create a new world. It's in the lower-left corner of the window.
9. 9 Click on /. The "/" character can be found on the keyboard. A console will open at the bottom of the Minecraft window.
10. 10 Enter give player command_block in the console. Replace "player" with your character's name.
    • For example, if the character name is "potatoSkin", enter give potatoSkin command_block.
11. 11 Click on ↵ Enter. The command will be executed, and a command block will appear in the character's hand.
12. 12 Place the command unit on the ground. Right click on the ground while the character is holding the command block.
13. 13 Right click on the command block. The command block window will open.
14. 14 Enter the command. Enter the command that the command block will execute in the line at the top of the window.
15. 15 Modify the command block parameters. To do this, change the following parameters:
    • Pulse: The block will execute the command once when you right-click on it. Press "Pulse" to switch to "Chain" so that the block starts only when the previous block starts. Press Chain to switch to Cyclic so that the block will execute the command 20 times per second.
    • "Unconditional": there are no additional conditions for the unit operation. Click "Unconditional" to switch to "Conditional" so that the block starts only after the previous block has executed the command.
    • "Signal Needed": The unit will only start on contact with the Red Stone. Click “Signal Needed” to go to “Always Active” so that the unit will start regardless of the Redstone.
16. 16 Click on Ready. You have now set up your command block.
    • If you selected the "Signal Needed" option, move red dust to the command block to start the command block.

Method 2 of 2: On Mobile (Minecraft PE)

1. 1 Launch the Minecraft PE app. Click on the icon in the form of a block of earth with grass.
2. 2 Tap Play. This button is in the middle of the screen.
3. 3 Click on Create new. It's near the top of the screen.
   • If you have already created a world in creative mode and activated cheat code support in it, click on that world, and then go to the "Enter a command" step.
4. 4 Tap Create a game world. This button is located at the top of the screen.
5. 5 Enter the name of the world. Tap the World Name field and enter a name for the world.
6. 6 Select Creative from the Default Game Mode menu. Survival mode is selected by default in this menu.
7. 7 Click on Proceedwhen prompted. Now in the new world you can play in creative mode and use cheat codes.
8. 8 Tap Create. It's on the left side of the page. A new world will be created.
9. 9 Click on the Chat icon. This speech cloud icon is located at the top of the screen (to the left of the Pause).
10. 10 Enter the command to get the command block. Enter / give player command_block... Replace "player" with your character's name.
11. 11 Click on the arrow pointing to the right. It's on the right side of the console. The command will be executed, and the command block will appear in the character's inventory.
12. 12 Take command block. Press "⋯" at the bottom right of the screen, tap the drawer tab on the left, and then tap the command block icon.
13. 13 Place the command unit on the ground. To do this, touch the ground.
14. 14 Click on the command block. The command block window will open.
15. 15 Modify the command block parameters. Change the following options on the left side of the screen (if you like):
    • Block Type: Leave Pulse for the block to execute the command when you touch it. Press "Pulse" and select "Chain" so that the block starts only when the previous block starts. Press Pulse and select Cycle to have the block execute the command 20 times per second.
    • Condition: Leave Unconditional for the block to work independently of other blocks. Click "No conditions" and select "On condition" so that the block starts only after the previous block has executed the command.
    • "Red Stone": Leave "Red Stone Required" so that the block will only start on contact with the Red Stone. Click on "Requires a Red Stone" and select "Always Runs" for the block to start regardless of the Red Stone.
16. 16 Enter the command. Click the "+" in the upper right part of the window, enter the command and click the "-" in the upper right corner of the screen.
17. 17 Close the command block window. Click the "x" in the upper right corner of the screen. You have now set up your command block.
    • If you selected the Redstone Needed option, move the red dust to the command block to start the command block.

Tips

• Command block parameters can be changed at any time.

Warnings

• The command block cannot be obtained in the console version of Minecraft.
