Use this guide to learn how to thoroughly clean hardwood floors.
Steps
- 1 Vacuum your hardwood floor at least once a week to remove most of the sand and dirt.
- 2 Sweep the floor regularly. To do this, you can use a regular brush or Swiffer mop; you can also buy special rags for wood or parquet floors.
- 3 Clean the floor with a damp mop if the parquet is covered with a protective layer. Use a mop and a special parquet cleaner. Start at one end and work your way to the other end of the room, mopping in an 8-way motion to scrub excess dirt and grit. Squeeze out the mop thoroughly and wipe the floor again to remove excess water and dry the floor.
Tips
- Try to use as little water as possible to clean the parquet floor.
- Use a special cleaner to clean parquet, as it usually contains a special ingredient to clean and nourish wood floors.
Warnings
- If you are vacuuming the floor, use a special nozzle to avoid damaging the wood.
