1 Start by applying foundation and concealer. This will help smooth out the layer of highlighter and other cosmetics. Concealer (corrector) will hide minor imperfections and give the skin a radiant effect. Apply your foundation in a measured, slow-paced manner, then proceed with the highlighter and, if desired, concealer.- Use a sponge or makeup brush to spread foundation evenly over your entire face.
- If you have dark circles or other minor imperfections, apply a little concealer to cover them up as closely as possible. It will also help accentuate areas that have been highlighted.
- Concealer can also highlight the areas that you are going to cover with the highlighter. Try dots on the bridge of the nose, cheekbones, in the center of the forehead, under the eyes, and on the dimple in the chin. Blend the concealer thoroughly.
- If you need to achieve the most catchy effect, sweep the highlighter from top to bottom along the entire length of the bridge of the nose, but this is not necessary.
Method 2 of 2: A way to accentuate the eyes, lips and chin
- 1 Apply the highlighter to the inner corners of your eyes. Take an eyeshadow brush and brush some highlighter onto the tip of the brush. Then take a brush and press it against the inner corners of your eyelids.
- You can apply multiple coats if you want a defiant and catchy effect, or just lightly powder your eyelids for a subtle make-up.
- 2 Apply the highlighter to the brow bone. A lot of light usually falls on the areas directly under the eyebrows, so it is advisable to emphasize this area with makeup. Try applying the highlighter over the browbone, which is the area just below the brow.
- Try to apply bOmost of the highlighter to the outer corners of the brow bone. It is unnecessary to cover the entire surface of the brow bone with it.
- You can also apply the highlighter to the crease of the eyelid for the most intense makeup.
- 3 Apply some highlighter to the area just above your upper lip. This area is called the cupid's arch, and properly applied makeup will draw more attention to your lips. Place a small amount of highlighter on your fingertip and press it down to this area.
- Avoid applying the highlighter directly to your lips; instead, apply it to the area just above your upper lip.
- 4 Brush the highlighter down the center of your chin. This touch will draw attention to the lips. Try to apply some highlighter down the center of your chin with a light sweeping motion of your brush.
- Try not to apply too much highlighter to this area. You just need to powder it slightly.
- If you applied the highlighter to the forehead, then try to cover the chin with makeup symmetrically to the curve of the line emphasized by the highlighter.
Tips
- The shade of your chosen highlighter should blend well with your skin tone. A matching highlighter shade will allow you to apply makeup evenly and add radiance to the skin. Your skin shouldn't look like it's covered in glitter. Try a few different shades of highlighter to find the one that works best for you.
Warnings
- Do not apply the highlighter all over the face, otherwise the skin will acquire a metallic sheen. Only apply this product to certain areas where light usually falls.
