1 Start with your usual skin care routine. Cleanse your face with a regular cleanser and then apply toner and moisturizer. If you are planning to apply a foundation, do so now. You can paint on your lips and apply blush, but don't apply eyeshadow just yet.
  • 2 Tidy up your eyebrows. Start by plucking loose or unruly hairs. Then take a clean brow brush and comb your brows in the direction of their natural growth. In most people, hairs grow straight up at the inner corners, outward along the bend, and downward toward the outer corner of the eyebrow.
  • 3 If necessary, use eyebrow pencil or powder, then comb the brows and shape them with the brow brush. It is not necessary to completely paint over the eyebrows with a pencil. If you have thick and wide eyebrows, you don't need to do this. Start with a moderate shade of taupe: it works equally well for dark and light brows and doesn't look too pale or too dark. If you have red eyebrows, choose a light, reddish brown pencil or powder.
    • Fill in the brows with short strokes that simulate hair, rather than just paint over them. This will help recreate the texture of the hairs and visually thicken the eyebrows.
    • Use a lighter shade if you have dark eyebrows. Never don't use black. Choose a dark brown or graphite shade instead. It will look softer, more natural and less strict.
    • Use different shades of the product on different areas of your brows. You can use one color, but apply it with less pressure on the inside of the eyebrow, and more on the outside.
  • 4 Apply clear gel in the direction of hair growth. You can use the eyebrow brush that is usually sold with the gel, or get a new one. Use the same technique and brush the hairs upward at the inner corner of the eyebrow, straight forward at the curve, and downward toward the tip of the eyebrow.
    • If you have previously applied an eyebrow pencil or powder, we recommend that you dip the brush in a brush cleaner and wipe it down with a clean towel before each use. This will help keep the clear gel from getting dirty with eyebrow pencil or powder residue.

Choose a clear gel to give your brows a clean look without tint. Laura Martin, a licensed beautician, explains: “A clear gel is a product designed to shape eyebrows without changing their color. It is especially useful for keeping unruly or uneven growing hairs under control. "

  • 5 Complete your makeup. When your eyebrow makeup is done, you can do the rest of your makeup, such as applying eyeshadow and eyeliner. Of course, you can do without it if you want to look more natural.
  • Method 2 of 2: Apply an eyebrow tint gel

    1. 1 Start with your usual skin care routine. Cleanse your face with a regular cleanser and then apply toner and moisturizer. If you are planning to apply a foundation, do so now. You can paint on your lips and apply blush, but don't apply eyeshadow just yet.
    2. 2 Tidy up your eyebrows to sharpen them. Remove any loose or unruly hairs. Then comb the hairs of your eyebrows up and out with a clean brush.
    3. 3 Apply a small drop of eyebrow gel to the back of your hand. If the tint gel was sold with a brush, use a thin beveled brush instead. With this fine brush, you will apply the gel along the bottom edge of your brow.
    4. 4 Outline the bottom edge of the eyebrow. Take a thin beveled brush and brush some gel over it. Outline the bottom of the eyebrow with short, light strokes. Do not go beyond the brows and do not apply the gel past the hairs. Start tracing from the inner corner of the eyebrow to the outer corner.
      • Use a stiff bristled brush, such as a lipstick brush. The soft brushes that are used to blend eyeshadow are not suitable for applying gel.
      • Don't use too much gel. Remember, less is more. You can always apply additional coats later.
    5. 5 Blend the tint gel up. Gently wipe off excess gel from the brush. Then, with light, soft strokes of the brush, blend the gel upward, onto the very eyebrow.
    6. 6 Fill in the brow. With the flat side of the beveled brush, fill the curve and root of the brow with gel using long strokes. Use a short, rectangular brush to fill in the inside of the brow using quick strokes from bottom to top. Make the curl and ponytail of the eyebrow darker and more defined, and the inner part of the eyebrow more washed out and lighter. This will make your eyebrows look more natural.
      • If you bought a jar of gel with an applicator brush, you can simply brush your eyebrows with the applicator. Make sure you follow the direction of hair growth.
    7. 7 Outline the top edge of the eyebrow, but only the outer part. Draw more brow gel with a beveled brush. Starting at the arch of your brow, outline the top edge. To make the eyebrows look more natural, step back a little from the inner corner and only then start tracing the outline.
    8. 8 Brush your brows with a clean brush. Use the same technique as at the beginning of the method: comb the hairs up at the inside of the eyebrow, out and down to the outside edge of the eyebrow.
    9. 9 Highlight your brow with liquid concealer. Choose a concealer that matches your skin tone or is a tone lighter. Using a thin brush, apply concealer along the bottom edge of your brow. Apply the product just below the hairs to avoid accidentally smudging the brow gel.
      • If the concealer has its own applicator brush, you can use it.
      • There is no need to use a concealer every day; it is perfect when you need to create a more effective look.
    10. 10 Blend the concealer down. In short, light strokes, blend the concealer down to the crease of your eyelid. You can do this with your finger or with an eyeshadow brush.
      • Soften the edges of the concealer with a cotton swab.
    11. 11 Complete your makeup. Once you've done the hardest part, you can apply the rest of your makeup: eyeshadow, eyeliner, mascara, and whatever else you want.

    Tips

    • Techniques from these methods will work for most people, but if your eyebrow hairs grow in the other direction, then you should always work along the growth, not against it.
    • Apply clear gel over pencil or eyebrow powder to fix the shape (similar to using hairspray).
    • Use a tint gel if you have sparse eyebrows that need to be filled in.
    • Thick, wide eyebrows make the face look younger.
    • Make sure your eyebrows are the right shape. They should be thicker towards the inside and thinner towards the ponytail. The curvature should be aligned with the outer edge of the pupil.
    • To make your makeup look more natural, it will be enough to use powder and clear gel. We also recommend limiting yourself to these two products if you have light or sparse eyebrows.
    • If you accidentally apply too much gel, remove the excess with an eyebrow brush.
    • The inner edge of the eyebrow should not go beyond the line running along the edge of the nostril. To test, place the brush vertically against the nostril. If the eyebrow touches the brush, this is normal, but if the brush is on top of the eyebrow, convince the extra hairs and correct the shape.
    • You can visually "open up" your eyes by applying a little shimmery highlighter to the brow bone.
