Whisper is a program that allows people to share their secrets. Secrets are posted anonymously as an image with text that people can comment on, like and share with others. This is a great way to show your sincerity, learn other people's secrets, and meet someone online. Of course, as with any application from the Internet, it is very important to be able to protect yourself and your personal information from unauthorized persons.

Steps

Part 1 of 3: Setting up Whisper

1 Download the Whisper app from the App Store or Google Play. This application is completely free and available for installation on most devices that run iOS or Android.
- If you are using a computer, then you can go to the website and from there send the download link to your smartphone. On the site you can see many other people's confessions and secrets, as well as information about the application. Unfortunately, you cannot comment or post via the website.
2 Allow Whisper to access your location data. Whisper uses your location data to customize your news feed, displaying the secrets of people around you.
- If you click “School” when you first open the Whisper home page, you will be prompted to select the school closest to you. If you don't go to school, click “I don’t go to school” and it will look like “Featured”.
3 Customize your notification settings. You will be prompted to turn on notifications for the app. This way Whisper can alert you when someone comments on your secrets or likes them. Click "OK" if you want to use this function.
- At any time, you can change the notification settings for the Whisper app in your iPhone or Android settings.
4 Customize your personal profile. In the Me section, you can change your username at any time, view your likes, secrets, and check for new notifications. By default, Whisper will come up with a username itself, but you can change it if you want, just remember about anonymity! Additional customization options can be found by clicking the icon in the upper left corner. Here you can:
- Create a PIN to protect your Whisper account.
- Change your school or location.
- Turn pop-up notifications on or off.
- Hide or show Not Safe for Work (NSFW) content.
- Go to Whisper groups / channels on various social media platforms and like them.
- View Whisper's FAQ, Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, or Technical Support Email.
5 Add friends or contacts from your phone, Facebook or Twitter. Go to the "Me" section and click the icon in the upper right corner in the form of a silhouette of a person with a "+" sign next to it. Whisper will send an email invitation as a text message to your phone, Facebook or Twitter account, which you can edit.
- You will be asked to authorize Whisper to access your accounts.

Part 2 of 3: Viewing Secrets

1 Scroll down the home page. After launching the application, swipe right, and the most popular secrets and secrets on the Internet will be displayed. You can endlessly scroll down this feed and read other people's secrets.
2 Check out the latest secrets or the secrets of the people closest to you. Instead of scrolling through the secrets on the home page or the Popular tab, you can view the Nearby, New and School Secrets in the GROUPS tab. See what's on these tabs, which are located on the blue bar at the top of the screen.
- GROUPS (Groups): This tab displays the groups you are subscribed to, including your school group. In this tab, you can add your school, find a group, create a group, or go to a group that you are already subscribed to.

- New: here you can view the latest secrets published in Whisper.
3 Click the "Discover" button to find secrets. Located at the bottom of your screen, the “Discover” button allows you to search secrets by keywords or browse secrets by category, such as confessions, secrets of the LGBT community, or just questions and answers.
- You can search for keywords related to other cities and locations to find out local secrets.

Part 3 of 3: Interacting in Whisper

1 Review the comments on the secrets. Select a secret and swipe up, then scroll down to see people's comments. Comments are framed in exactly the same way as secrets, in the form of an image with text on it. You can also like and comment on people's responses.
2 Please comment on the secret. Click the "Reply" button to leave your reply private. Now a screen with an input field will become available, where you can enter the text of your reply message, and as you type it, the application will automatically select a suitable background image. Comments are framed in exactly the same way as secrets, in the form of an image with text on it.
- You can also customize your answer by clicking on the body of the text, thus removing the keyboard. You will be given the opportunity to search for a background image, the ability to take a photo, or use your personal photo from the device as the background of the response.
3 Communication with others. You can communicate with other users in person by exchanging secrets and messages such as a simple “hello”. Remember that you are communicating with real people, so always do it as respectfully as possible, while protecting your personal information by not disclosing it. You can open a chat in the following ways:
- Open the secret and click "Messages". This item will be next to "Reply" after you open the secret for viewing.After that, you will be transferred to a screen with which you can communicate using posters.
- Click the Messages button at the bottom of the screen. This will display all the chats in which you participate. You can sort your chats by clicking on the right edge, or delete chats by clicking "Edit". You can also block the active open, add to favorites, delete or display the last published secrets by clicking the three-dot button located in the upper right corner.
4 Create your own secret. Press the round button with "+" and start typing the text of your secret or confession. After clicking "Next", the application will automatically select an image for you.
- Customize your secret - to do this, click on the body of the text to remove the keyboard in this way. You will be given the opportunity to search for a background image, the ability to take a photo or use your personal photo, change the font, and also choose how to post to specific groups.

Warnings

Remember that even with anonymity, you are still communicating with real people. Be respectful and polite to others, especially when replying to comments or private messages.
