Daylight sensors are used to determine the time of day in Minecraft by measuring the level of intensity of sunlight, after which an electrical impulse is transmitted using a red stone, equal to the intensity of light at a given time. Using red stone, you can turn them into moonlight sensors. This means that the daylight sensor can be used to make a time bomb, auto-turn lamp, alarm clock, and many other devices.
Steps
Method 1 of 4: Create a Simple Alarm Clock
1 Place the daylight sensor in an open area, or cover it with an exceptionally clear block.
2 Make a chain of red dust leading to the mechanism that will be powered by it.
3 The mechanism will start working as soon as daylight hits the sensor.
Method 2 of 4: Time Bomb
1 Place the TNT block in the desired location.
2 Disguise it well.
3 Place the daylight sensor on top of the TNT unit.
4 Now all you have to do is watch the TNT detonate as the sun rises.
Method 3 of 4: Moonlight Sensor
1 Place the daylight sensor in a place convenient for you.
2 Apply the "Use" command while being close to the daylight sensor.
3 The daylight sensor changes to blue. This way you get a moonlight sensor that only activates at night!
Method 4 of 4: Auto-On Lamp
1 Install a daylight sensor on the roof of your home.
2 Apply the "Use" command and turn it into a moonlight sensor.
3 Create a path of red dust to the future location of the lamps.
4 Place the lamps directly in the holes in the ceiling of the house.
5 When the sun goes down, you will see your lamps turn on.
6 And when the sun rises, they turn off.
Tips
- The lower the intensity of the sunlight, the weaker the signal becomes, and the less distance it is transmitted using red dust wires.
- Try to mask the red dust trail.
