This article will guide you on how to delete photos posted to Facebook as well as how to remove your tag on other people's photos. You can perform the action on the Facebook app and on the website of this social network.

Steps

Method 1 of 2: Delete uploaded photos

On the phone

1. 

   Open Facebook. Tap on the Facebook app with a white "f" symbol on a blue background to open the News Feed page if you are logged into Facebook.
   • If you aren't logged into Facebook, enter your email address (or phone number) and password to continue.

   Touch the icon ☰ In the bottom-right corner of the screen (on iPhone) or in the top-right corner of the screen (on Android).

   Tap your name at the top of the menu to access your profile.

   Scroll down and select the card Photos (Photo) below your personal information.

5. 

   Touch the card Uploads (Uploaded Image) is at the top of the screen.

   Select the photo to delete. Find the photo you want to delete, then tap to open it.

   Choose ⋯ (on iPhone) or ⋮ (on Android) in the top-right corner of the screen to open the options list.

   Touch Delete Photo (Delete Photos) is at the top of the menu.

   Choose Delete (Delete) when asked. This will delete the photos in your Facebook account. The post associated with the photo will also be deleted. advertisement

On the computer

1. 

   Open Facebook. Access https://www.facebook.com/ using your web browser to open the Facebook News Feed page if you are logged in.
   • If you aren't logged in, enter your email address (or phone number) and password in the field at the top right corner of the page.

2. 

   Click on your name in the top-right corner of your Facebook page to access your profile.

   Click the card Photos (Photo) below your cover photo.

4. 

   Click the card Your Photos (Your photo) below the "Photos" heading near the top of the list of photos to see the photos you've posted.

   Select photos to delete. Find the picture you want to delete and place your mouse pointer on it; You should see a pencil icon appear in the upper right corner of the photo thumbnail.

   Click the pencil icon to open the selection list.

7. 

   Click Delete This Photo (Delete this photo) at the bottom of the drop-down list.

   Click Delete (Delete) when asked. This will delete the photos in your Facebook account. The post associated with the photo will also be deleted. advertisement

Method 2 of 2: Remove your tag on the photo

On the phone

1. 

   Open the Facebook app with a white "f" symbol on a blue background to view the News Feed page if you are logged into Facebook.
   • If you are not logged into Facebook, you will enter your email address (or phone number) and password to continue.

   Choose ☰ In the bottom-right corner of the screen (on iPhone) or in the top-right corner of the screen (on Android).

3. 

   Tap your name at the top of the menu to access your profile.

4. 

   Scroll down and select the card Photos (Photo) below your personal information.

5. 

   Choose Photos of You (Your photo) is in the upper left of the page.

6. 

   Open the photo you want to tag. Find and tap the photo you want to tag.

7. 

   Choose ⋯ (on iPhone) or ⋮ (on Android) in the upper right corner of the screen is displaying a photo to open the selection list.

   Choose Remove Tag (Remove) in selection list.

9. 

   Choose OK when asked to remove tags on a photo, and the photo will no longer show up in your Timeline.

   Click the pencil icon to open the selection list.

   Click Remove Tag (Remove) near the bottom of the drop-down list.

   Click OK when asked. This will remove the tag on the photo, and the photo will no longer show up in your Timeline.
   • You can also check the "Report" box on the displayed window to report an image.
   • The photo's friends who posted the photo will still see the photo you removed.

Advice

• If someone continues to tag you in pictures that you don't like, you can report them or block users.

Warning

• Removing tags on an image does not delete the photo. The photo's friends who posted the photo will still see the photo after you've removed your tag.
