Disabling surveillance cameras can hide your identity, and your presence cannot. A camera monitor can know you're there, just don't know what you're doing. You can disable the camera in the dark with LEDs, infrared lasers day / night or cover the camera lens.

Steps

Method 1 of 3: By LED

1. 

   Direct a strong LED (light-emitting diode) light onto the camera lens. The brighter the flashlight will be more effective. You should use a small, easy-to-pocket device. This method is only really effective in the dark, so keep it for sneaky excursions at night or in enclosed spaces.

   Cover your face with lights. Accurately locate the camera and shine the light directly on the lens. This technique, when done correctly, will create a flash and it is almost impossible to identify you through the camera. However, this is not wise as a sudden flashing light will warn your supervisor of your presence. But anyway, at least a bright light can cover your face.

   Handle the lights carefully. Do not let the light rays leave the camera lens or you will be exposed. Make sure that no light is shining on your face. Note: this method is only effective if you act quickly and correctly.

   Attach infrared LEDs to clothes. For convenience, you can attach a strip of lights to your hat or headband with super glue. More elaborate, you can make your own "mask" LED to completely obscure the face. Make sure the light is bright enough to blur your face out of camera view, but without affecting your eyesight! advertisement

Method 2 of 3: By infrared laser lamp

   Project the infrared laser light directly into the camera lens. This method is more sophisticated than the one above, but it requires a lot of precision. If the laser dot slips off the lens for even a second, the camera will catch your face. Act quickly and efficiently to avoid detection.
   • This method can be applied during the day and at night (more effective in the dark).
   • You can use any ordinary laser pointer. In general, the stronger the laser, the more effective it is.

   You need to know the downsides. The camera can see you until the laser is aligned in the correct direction. The camcorder can immediately obtain an image if there is any obstruction between the laser beam and the lens. In addition, the effectiveness of this method is a bit difficult to evaluate. It is impossible to know if the laser is properly aligned when viewed from your side.
   • Do not shine the laser in the eyes. You could go blind! Consider wearing dark colored glasses to protect your eyesight, but the risk still remains.

3. 

   Beware of other cameras. Since this method requires concentration, you can only disable one camera with a laser pen. While lasers are much more sophisticated than LEDs or flashlights, the effectiveness of this approach is limited. If you need to disable multiple cameras at the same time, you need to prepare the corresponding number of laser pens. Consider working with friends. advertisement

Method 3 of 3: Cover the camera lens

1. 

   Apply wax on the lens. Apply Vaseline or a wax on the camera lens to blur the image. If necessary, try using foods that are sticky and easy to spread like butter, jam, and peanut butter. You need to apply the entire surface of the lens. Be careful not to get caught in the process of approaching the camera!
   • Be careful not to leave fingerprints on the camera! You may not be recognized, but people can still identify through other evidence you leave.

2. 

   Stick the tape on the lens. Use black / silver tape, paper tape, or anything that is not transparent. You must paste it on all recording devices! Remember to cover your face to avoid being recognized when approaching the camera.

3. 

   Covers the entire camera. If it is an emergency, simply block the view of the video recorder with a larger object. Try gluing / tying a plastic or cloth bag to the lens. Obstruct the camera view with a shield, board or other furniture.
   • If there is nothing in your hand, you can cover the camera with a shirt or scarf. If you must leave clothing on the appliance, make sure the item will not report you.

Advice

• More simply, you can disguise. If hiding your identity was more important than being discovered, you can manage it by covering your face. Wear dark glasses, terrorist masks or other face masks.

Warning

• Bright enough infrared rays can cause blindness!
• These devices can activate a number of infrared-based fire detectors.
• Filters may disable your method. In fact, not all cameras are sensitive to infrared rays.
• The methods above may not work with camera flash.
