This wikiHow teaches you how to turn off voicemail on an Android phone.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Turn off call forwarding
Open the settings on the Android device. Tap the gear icon on the Home screen.
- The Settings app can be in the App drawer. App drawer icon with dot matrix, usually located in the Home screen.
Make sure that you are accessing the "Device" tab. If not, tap the appropriate card in the upper left corner of the screen.
Scroll down and tap Applications (Application).
Click Phone (Phone).
Choose More Settings (Add settings).
Click Call Forwarding (Call transfer).
Choose Voice Call (Voice call).
Choose Forward When Busy (Switch when the phone is busy).
Click Turn Off (Turn off).
Press the "Back" button with the nose up facing the opposite side at the bottom of the phone.
Choose Forward When Unanswered (Transfer when no reply).
Click Turn Off.
Click the "Back" button.
Click Forward When Unreached (Transfer when inaccessible).
Click Turn Off. So all call forwarding options are disabled, you will not receive voicemail from caller. advertisement
Method 2 of 2: Use the No More Voicemail app
Open the Google Play Store app store. Tap the multicolored triangle icon on the Home screen.
Click the magnifying glass icon.
Enter "No More Voicemail" in the search bar.
Click Go (Go).
Click on the result "No More Voicemail".
Press the button Install (Settings) in the upper right part of the screen.
Click Accept (Accept) when prompted. The application download will begin.
Click Open to open No More Voicemail. You will see this button appear on Google Play after the download is complete.
Click Get Started (Begin).
Enter the activation email address.
Click Sign Up & Continue (Register and continue).
Click Copy (Copy).
Follow the instructions on the screen, including opening the Dialer application, pasting the number you just copied, and making a call.
- You must not turn off the No More Voicemail application while performing this step.
Click I Confirm I Followed These Steps (I have completed these steps). The No More Voicemail application is set up — you will no longer receive voicemail from incoming calls.
- If you run into problems during the initial setup, you should do it a few more times. Some users have reported that they failed the first install and had to try again a few times to succeed.
Advice
- On some Android phones, you can turn off voicemail by opening the section Settings, click Call good Call (located in the card Device), press Voice mail (Voicemail), click next voicemail number (voicemail number) and delete it.
Warning
- Some carriers do not allow us to disable voicemail because of a contractual obligation. In this case, try calling the operator and ask if they can turn off voicemail for you.
