In this article, wikiHow will guide you through determining whether you are using the computer's administrator account, as well as how to change the current user account to the administrator state. To change a computer account, you must have administrator privileges.

    Check the box "Allow user to administer this computer". If you want to remove the administrator rights of the account, uncheck the dialog box above.

Advice

• To improve your security, you should only give admin rights to as few people as possible.
• Standard users have limited system control and will not be able to install programs, delete system files or change settings. The guest can use the basic file and program but no other possibility.

Warning

• If you are using a work / shared computer, do not manually change the admin settings without notifying the IT department or the computer server.
