• Steps

This article will guide you on how to find the URL of a website. The URL is the site's address. You can see it in the address bar of your browser, or you can find the URL of a link by right-clicking and copying the link.

Steps

1. 

   Visit the page https://www.google.com from the browser. You can use any browser of your choice, then go to the Google homepage by entering the link https://www.google.com in the address bar of your browser.

   Enter the name of a website. You'll click on the text input bar below the Google logo and enter the site name.

   Press ↵ Enter. This will find and return a list of sites that match your search.

   Right click on the link. Links are green text lines from which a web page opens from which you click. Right-clicking will bring up a popup menu next to the link.

   Click an option Copy Link Address (Copy Link address). This will copy the link address to the clipboard. You can do so with any link on the internet.
   • If you are using a touchpad or trackpad on a Mac, you can right-click with two-finger clicking.

   Open a text editing software. You can use optional text editing software, such as Notepad on Windows or TextEdit on a Mac.
   • To open the Notepad software on Windows, click the Windows start icon in the lower right corner of the screen, then type NotepadClick on Notepad. The app's icon is a note pad with a blue cover.
   • To open TextEdit on a Mac. Click the Finder app. The app icon is a blue and white smiley face. Next, you will press "Applications"(Application) and click on TextEdit. This app has the icon of a pen and a sheet of paper.

   Right click the text cursor in text editing software. This will bring up a popup menu next to it.

   Press the button Paste (Paste) to paste the URL into text editing software.
   • You can also check the URL of any website you are visiting by clicking on the address bar in your browser. The address bar is the long white bar at the top of your browser window, below the pages (tabs) at the top. Sometimes, you will need to click on the text of the URL to be able to see the full URL.
