Photographers love Flickr because it is a vibrant social network with a variety of photo sharing options. Flickr has a ton of features, so it is quite difficult for you to understand how to perform seemingly normal tasks, such as uploading photos. Luckily, uploading photos from Flickr is pretty easy if you know some valuable tips. To do this, you'll need to use a computer because mobile apps don't have these features.

Steps

Method 1 of 3: Download photos from your Photostream

1. 

   Sign in to your Flickr account. Open the Flickr website in a web browser then log in with your username and password.

   Select the photo you want to download. The image will be available in two places:
   • Click “Camera Roll” to view all your photos. When you click on an image, that image is added to the download "stack" at the bottom of the screen. To add more pictures to the queue, click “Select All” next to the date the images were added.
   • If you use Flickr albums to store your photos and want to download all the albums, click "Albums," then choose the set of photos you want to download.

   Click “Download” at the bottom of the screen. The images that you add to the queue will be downloaded. Another message will pop up depending on the number of images you have selected:
   • If you choose an image, the message will say “Download 1 photo”. Click the message box to select a save location on your computer. The download will start.
   • If you have selected multiple images (or entire albums), the message will say “Download zip”. Click the message to create a single archive, then select a folder to save. Once you've finished downloading, open the zip file.
   • On Windows, double-click the zip file, then click "Extract" to extract the image.
   • On Mac, users can double-click a zip file to extract the image to the current folder.

Method 2 of 3: Upload photos from someone else's Photostream

   Open the Flickr photo you want to download. Not all users leave photos in downloadable mode. If there is a down arrow in the lower right of the image, the image is available for download.

   Click the down arrow to see options for image size. A short list of image sizes available for download will appear. If you want to see more options, click “View all sizes”.
   • The higher the resolution, the larger the image.
   • If a larger resolution isn't available, it could be because the photo is inherently small, or the owner chose not to share the full size.

   Click an image size and click the download link. The download link will be something like "Download the Large 1024 size of this photo", but the specific content depends on the size of the image you choose.

Method 3 of 3: Using Flickr Downloadr on Google Chrome

1. 

   Install Flickr Downloadr. Flickr Downloadr is a trusted application that allows you to search and download photos on Flickr. The app runs on Mac, Windows, and Linux operating systems, but you need the Google Chrome browser.
   • Open the Chrome Web Store and look for Flickr Downloadr.
   • Click “Add to Chrome” then confirm by clicking “Add app”.

   Run Flickr Downloader on Chrome. In Chrome's address bar, type chrome: // apps click on and click ↵ Enter. Click on the Flickr Downloadr icon.

   Click on the house icon to start the search. In the search field, enter a keyword / subject, username or Flickr group name. Click the magnifying glass icon to start searching.

   Select pictures to download. If you're looking for users or groups then click “People” or “Groups” at the top of the app to see the results. If you search by keyword / topic, keep the tab "Photos" and browse through the results.
   • Click on an image to add it to the stack of pending images. If you change your mind, click the photo again to cancel.
   • To select all the shapes you have viewed in the search results, click the square icon below the image.

   Click the arrow icon to start downloading. Choose a file size at the bottom of the screen (“Original” is the original image - the highest quality available) then click “Choose Folder” to choose a save folder. Click “OK,” then click the arrow to begin the download.
   • Each image will load separately, so you do not need to unzip any files.
   • If the user doesn't turn on the original size of the photo for you to download, Flickr Downloadr will find and download the best quality photos possible.
