This article will show you how to read a Snapchat message without the knowledge of another user.

Steps

1. 1 Launch Snapchat by clicking on the yellow white ghost icon.
2. 2 Click on the Chat icon. Go to the chat screen by clicking on the small text cloud in the lower left corner of the screen.
   • You can also get to the chat screen by swiping to the right.
3. 3 Tap and hold the conversation.
4. 4 Swipe right without leaving the screen. This will take you to the conversation screen and can read the message without opening the conversation itself (and without notifying the sender that the message has been read).
5. 5 Read the message. However, you will not be able to scroll the conversation up or down.
   • Keep your finger on the screen. If you lift your finger from the screen, you will open the conversation and the message will be marked as read.
6. 6 Swipe back to the left to return to the chat screen.
7. 7 Take your finger off the screen. The message will remain unread.
