This wikiHow teaches you how to add (or "pin") a photo from your computer, smartphone or tablet to your Pinterest feed.

Steps

Method 1 of 2: On the computer

1. 

   Open Pinterest. Access https://www.pinterest.com/ using a web browser. The Pinterest homepage will open if you are logged in.
   • If you are not logged in, enter your username and password, or log in with Facebook.

   Click the mark ＋ It's in the white circle in the bottom-right corner of the Pinterest window. A menu will pop up.
   • If prompted to receive the Pinterest browser button, choose Not now (Skip) then click the mark ＋ Again.

   Click Upload a Pin (Create a pin). This task is in the middle of the menu. A window with photo upload options opens.

   Click Drag and drop or click to upload (Drag and drop or click to upload). This is on the left side of the image upload window. A File Explorer (Windows) or Finder (Mac) window will open after you click it.
   • If you don't see this option, click the switch Upload Pin in the lower left corner of the window.

   Choose an image. Click on the photo you want to upload to Pinterest. You may need to click on the folder containing the pictures on the left side of the previous window.

   Click Open (Open). This action is in the lower-right corner of the Pinterest window. The photo will be uploaded to Pinterest.

   Enter a description. If you want to add a description to the photo, click the "Description" text box and enter your desired text.

   Click Done (Accomplished). This red button is in the lower right corner of the window.

   Select the table when prompted. Hover the mouse pointer over the board where you want to store the picture, then click the button Save (Save) is to the right of the table name. The uploaded photos will be stored.
   • If you want to add a photo to a separate board, you can click Create board (Create table), enter a table name and click Create (Create).

Method 2 of 2: On the phone

1. 

   Open Pinterest. Click on the Pinterest app with the text icon P White stylized lying in red circles. The Pinterest home page will open if you are logged in.
   • If Pinterest doesn't log in automatically, you'll need to log in with your username and password, or through Facebook.

2. 

   Tap the head-shaped profile icon in the lower right corner (iPhone / iPad) or in the upper right corner of the screen (Android).

3. 

   Click on the mark ➕ in the upper right corner of the screen.

   Click Photo (Photo) is near the bottom of the menu.
   • If prompted, give Pinterest permission to access the photos on your phone or tablet.

5. 

   Choose an image. Click on the photo you want to upload to Pinterest.

6. 

   Add description. You can enter a description for the photo in the top text field if you like.

7. 

   Select a table. Click on the board where you want to upload the photo. The image will be uploaded to Pinterest; You will be able to find the image again by selecting the header of the table you specified earlier.
   • You can also click Create Board if you want to create a specific table for the image.

Advice

• If you don't want to upload your photos to Pinterest, you can share other people's pins.

• Uploading another person's images without proper attribution is against Pinterest's terms of use and could result in your account being suspended.
