Method 1 of 5: Closing Windows in Microsoft Windows

1. Click the "x" in the top right corner of a window to close the window.
2. Simultaneously press "Ctrl" and "W" to close the current window.
3. Press "F11" to minimize the current window.
4. Press the Windows logo key and the down arrow to minimize the current window.
5. Simultaneously press the Windows key and "M" to minimize all open windows.
6. Simultaneously press "ALT" and "F4" to close an active item or program.
7. Simultaneously press "Ctrl" and "F4" to close an active document. This command can be used in programs that support running multiple documents at the same time, such as Microsoft Word.

1. Click the red circle in the top left corner of a window to close it.
