Gumtree is a free classifieds website for users in the UK (www.gumtree.com.uk) and Australia (www.gumtree.com.au). To post ads on Gumtree, you must register for an account, choose a location and post content using Gumtree's promotional form. Follow the steps below to complete an official classified ad.

Steps

1. 

   Visit the official website of Gumtree at http://www.gumtree.com/. If you are not yet a user, you need to create an account to post ads with your current location.

   Click the orange “Post an ad” button located in the upper-right corner of your current login session. If you are not logged in to the user account, the site will go to the login or registration page. The registration process is free and very easy to do.

   Enter the email address and password for the Gumtree website, then click “Continue" (Continue).
   • Click “No, I am new to Gumtree” (No, I am new to Gumtree) if you have not yet registered for Gumtree, then follow the on-screen instructions to create an account.

   Choose a category for your ad. For example, if you want to sell something, click "For Sale".

   Click on the subcategory in the left pane that best describes your listing's features. For example, if you are selling garden tools, click “Home and Garden”.

   Continue to click on the sub categories that Gumtree suggests based on the characteristics of the post. For example, if you just clicked on “Home and Garden” to sell garden tools, Gumtree will suggest a more specific category for the product, such as “Garden and Patio Furniture”. and courtyard)

   Click “Continue” after you have selected the sub categories for your listing.

   Review the catalog details and then enter your postal code in the field provided.

   Enter a title for your ad up to 100 characters in the “Ad title” field.

    Enter the price you want to sell.
    • The price field may not be available for some ads, depending on the category you choose. For example, ads created for free items in the “Freebies” category won't ask you to enter a price.

    Click “Add image” to upload the photo you want to attach your ad to. Images can often help draw more attention to a post.

    Enter a description for the ad in the “Description” field. The description should contain all the necessary information around the features of the ad. For example, if you are selling a mobile device, use the description field to tell the user about the product's appearance, condition, manufacturer, model, special features, and colors.

    Enter your contact information in the given field. Depending on your personal preferences, you can choose to have users contact you via email or phone.

    Click on “Post my ad" (Advertisement). The recent ad will be posted on Gumtree. advertisement
