If you accidentally grabbed your permanent marker to write on your whiteboard, don't worry. There are several quick and easy solutions to remove the waterproof ink that will not or only slightly damage your whiteboard.

Method 1 of 2: Using a dry erase highlighter

1. Use a dry erase highlighter to draw over the waterproof ink. Cover the stripes as best you can. Also make sure that the dry erase highlighter has enough ink and is not dried out.
   • It doesn't matter what color highlighter you use.
2. Use a pencil eraser and rub it well over the stain. Only try this if the other methods don't work. You can potentially damage the surface of the whiteboard if you rub it with an eraser.

Tips

• According to some people, it works better if you do not leave the stripes on the whiteboard for more than 30 seconds, instead of 5 to 10 minutes.
• You can also use a little perfume if you have this.

Warnings

• The whiteboard will be permanently damaged if you use anything that affects its surface.
