While most Viber users prefer to use the mobile app, Viber is also available for computers! After a quick installation, you can chat and call with other Viber users before you know it, right from your PC.

Method 1 of 2: Install Viber in Windows

1. Make sure the Viber app is installed on your phone. You cannot install Viber on Windows if you don't already have a Viber mobile account.
   • You can download Viber for free from your mobile's app store.
2. Go to the download page of Viber. Click on the link provided to do this. This should take you to the download page for Windows.
   • If you are directed to a standard Viber download page, simply click on the "Windows" option located roughly in the middle of the screen.
3. Click on the purple "Download Viber" button. This should be in the middle of the page - after this Viber will be downloaded.
   • Depending on the browser you are using, you may need to select a download location first. Choose a place where you can easily reach it (eg on the desktop).
4. Locate the Viber setup file on your computer. If you can't find this quickly, search for "vibersetup" via the search box in your Start menu.
5. Double-click the Viber setup file. This will start the installation.
6. Click the "Agree" box, and click "Install". This will install Viber on your computer. This shouldn't take more than a few minutes.
   • Click "Close" in the "Installation Successful" page when it appears.
7. Double-click the "Viber" icon to open Viber. This should already be on your Desktop.
8. Click "Yes" on the home page. This tells Viber that you have the app on your mobile - you will then be directed to a page for entering the QR code.
9. Tap the Viber app on your phone to open it. Your Viber app should automatically open in a screen with a QR code scanner. You need to scan Viber's QR code on your desktop with the Viber app to sync your mobile account with your desktop.
   • If your phone does not open in the QR code scanner, you can also do this manually by tapping "More" in the bottom right corner of the screen, then tapping "QR code scanner" at the bottom of the page.
10. Point the camera of your mobile at the screen of your computer. Make sure the code is in the center of the brackets on the screen on your phone screen. This should recognize the code almost immediately, and add your Desktop's Viber account to your mobile's.
11. Click on "Open Viber". This will open Viber for Windows!

Method 2 of 2: Using Viber for Windows

1. Click on the Contacts icon. This option is located to the right of the standard "Chats" icon - you can access this from the top left corner of the Viber window.
2. Select a contact you want to chat with. This contact must also use Viber; if there is a purple phone icon to the right of the name, everything is ready for use.
   • You can also click the "Viber Only" option below the search bar to filter out contacts that are not using Viber.
3. Enter a message in the field at the bottom of the screen. You can now start chat point.
   • Any message you send via the desktop app will also appear in the mobile app (and vice versa).
4. Click on the paper airplane icon to send your message. This should be to the right of the chat field. You have now successfully sent a message with Viber from Windows!
5. Click on the phone icon at the top of the screen. This will call your contact. As long as that contact is also registered with Viber, you can call for free.
   • You can also click on the video camera icon to the right of the phone icon to start a video call with this contact.
6. Repeat this process for other contacts on Viber. You can make calls, text messages or video calls with any of your Viber contacts whenever you want - right from your desktop!
