This article teaches you how to enable Turbo Boost technology on your computer with an Intel i5 processor. Many computer manufacturers enable Turbo Boost by default, but in some cases you will need to make a small adjustment in your BIOS for it to work.

To step

1. Boot your computer into the BIOS. Here's a simple way to do this in Windows:
   • Click on it Go to the screen with options for the CPU or processor. The BIOS looks different for each motherboard manufacturer. In most cases you will find the option for Turbo Boost in a menu called CPU specifications, CPU properties, Advanced core functions, or something similar.
     • Use the arrow keys to navigate the BIOS and press ↵ Enter to select something.
     • Press Esc to return to the previous screen.
   • Find the "Intel® Turbo Boost Technology" option in the menu. You should see "Enabled" or "Disabled" next to it. If it says "Enabled", you don't need to change anything in the BIOS.
   • Select Enabled in the menu.
   • Save your changes. The key you need to use for this can be found at the bottom of the BIOS. In most cases this is F10.
   • Get out of the BIOS and restart your computer. Press Esc and follow the instructions to restart your computer. Wait for your computer to restart, and Turbo Boost is now enabled.
