It's always a shock when you look in the mirror, and a huge pimple stares back at you from your forehead.Fortunately, it is quite easy to hide pimples and get on with your day. First, you need to do a few things to minimize the pimple, and then you can cover it with makeup. Don't worry guys! You too can hide the pimple under a layer of make-up, because there are a lot of guys nowadays who use make-up to get rid of imperfections; no one will find out.

To step

Method 1 of 3: Minimize the pimples

  1. Use a mild detergent. Choose a mild soap for your face. Do not use cleansers that make the skin contract or scrubs. Also have one without alcohol. Those kinds of products only make things worse.
    • Even though you shouldn't use harsh cleansers, you could try a special acne-fighting product. Look for one with salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. Salicylic Acid clears clogged pores and reduces swelling and redness; benzoyl peroxide kills bacteria and removes dead skin cells.
    • Wash your face with lukewarm water and your cleanser. Hot water dries out your skin.
  2. Do not use makeup cleansing wipes. Most makeup removers contain alcohol and other chemicals that can irritate your skin. Most people also rub harder when using such a cloth, because it makes it harder for your make-up to take off. This can make pimples worse.
    • If you have pimples, use soap and water to take your makeup off.
  3. Gently scrub the pimple. When you get out of the shower or after washing your face in the morning, use a washcloth to gently exfoliate the pimple. The shower has loosened dead skin cells, so you can now easily scrub them off.
  4. Moisturize your face when it is clean. If you wash your face at night, apply moisturizer afterward. Use a light moisturizing cream or lotion on your face. You can also apply a moisturizer in the morning after washing, but only apply it to the dry areas.
  5. Use ice. Put an ice cube in the washcloth. Keep it on your (clean!) Skin for a minute. If the pimple has not gone away by then, wait 5 minutes before holding the ice against it for another minute.

Method 2 of 3: Clog pimples with a primer

  1. Provide good light. It's best to have plenty of light when applying makeup, especially if you want to hide a pimple, as you need to be able to view it from every angle. So make sure you have enough light before you start.
  2. Choose a primer. You put a primer under the concealer to hide the pimple. Choose a yellow or green primer as it neutralizes red.
  3. Apply the primer. Use a brush to dab some primer on the pimple. Apply just enough to hide the pimple, because if you use too much, it will attract attention. Blur it with your finger.
    • You can also use a cotton swab if you don't have a brush.
  4. Apply the concealer. Now you use a concealer that is close to your own skin tone. Use the brush and rub some on the pimple. Again, use just enough to hide the pimple.
    • If you buy concealer, test it on the back of your hand or on your cheekbone to make sure the color is right. A moisturizing concealer hydrates your skin while it clogs the pimple.
    • You may need a different concealer in winter than in summer, especially if you've been out in the sun a lot. You can mix the two colors in spring and fall.
  5. Blur the concealer. Make sure that the concealer blends well with your own skin color. Rub your finger gently around the edges so that it fades nicely.
  6. Use powder. Powder helps to keep make-up beautiful all day long. Apply some powder over the other make-up with a powder brush. Dab it gently, but do not rub.

Method 3 of 3: Hide pimples with concealer and foundation

  1. Choose the right concealer. With this method, you need a concealer that is exactly the same as your skin tone. You should be able to see the concealer a little through the last layer.
  2. Use a brush. Dab some concealer on the brush. Place the brush on the pimple and turn it back and forth so that the concealer is distributed over the entire pimple.
  3. Rub it in. Use your finger to rub in the concealer. Focus on the edges and make sure it doesn't become a hard transition; it should blend nicely into your skin tone.
  4. Apply foundation. Use foundation that matches your skin tone. Cover your entire face with a layer of foundation. However, don't get over the pimple; go to the edges of the pimple.
  5. Use powder. Apply powder to the pimple. Put some powder on your finger (the same color as your skin) and rub it over the pimple. The powder keeps the make-up in place better.

Tips

  • Try liquid band-aid. You shouldn't always do this, but if you're having a party, you can put some liquid band-aid over the pimple. Put concealer on top and it will last all evening, because the make-up adheres better to the liquid plaster.
  • Do not touch the pimple again when you are done applying concealer. Then you rub the make-up away again.
  • Pack some extra concealer in your bag so you can touch it up throughout the day.
