This wikiHow teaches you how to prevent your Imo.im contacts from knowing that you are using the app. While there is no longer an option to make yourself "invisible", temporarily blocking any contact can prevent your status from being revealed or getting another message.

Method 1 of 2: Mobile

1. Open the Imo.im app.
2. Tap Chats. This option is in the top right corner of the screen.
3. Choose a conversation with the person you want to block.
4. Tap that person's name. It's in the top left corner of the screen, next to the "black" arrow.
5. Scroll down and tap Block.
6. Tap Yes to confirm. This person can no longer see when you are active.
   • If you want this person to be able to contact you again, tap the ☰ at the bottom left of Imo, select Settings, Blocked Contacts, and tap Unblock.
   • You have to repeat this method for every contact you want to block / unblock.

Method 2 of 2: Windows

1. Open Imo.im for Windows Desktop.
   • When you block someone with the Windows app, you must first delete that person as a contact. This means that if you add them back, they will be notified. If you only want to be temporarily invisible to someone without that person knowing, use the Mobile version.
2. Click on Chats.
3. Right click on the conversation with the person you want to block.
4. Click Remove from Contacts.
5. Click on Yes to confirm.
6. Click on the conversation. You will see a message at the top of the screen saying "This person is not in your contacts".
7. Click on Block. This person can no longer see when you are online.
   • When you want the other person to be able to see that you are online again, click on the imomenu in the top left corner of the screen and select Blocked Users. Then click on Unblock next to the person's name.
   • You have to repeat this method for every contact you want to block / unblock.
