Some teens find their buttocks growing faster than the rest of their body. Sometimes this is because they started puberty earlier. Others may simply be blessed with the genetics of a great butt. Whether you are an early bloomer or not, the attention can be uncomfortable. Don't give up on yourself! You are just a few clothing choices and an adjustment of your attitude away from living a happy life with your body.

To step

Part 1 of 4: Dress appropriately (girls)

  1. Balance the top and bottom of your body. It is important to draw attention to your upper body and thus put less emphasis on your larger buttocks with your clothes. Choose tops that add weight or curves to your shoulders and chest. By doing both, you divert attention from your butt while also using your clothes to add proportions for a more balanced figure.
    • Choose bold colors and patterns. Don't go overboard to the point of being flashy, look for bold colors and provocative patterns to keep all eyes on your top.
    • Look for horizontal necklines. They tighten the eye while also slimming the waist.
    • Try puff sleeves. They broaden your shoulder line to line up with your larger back, balancing your silhouette.
    • Collect necklaces and scarves. These are two of the most valuable accessories you have for dealing with a bigger butt. Chains (especially larger ones) keep the eyes on your top and neckline, while scarves broaden your shoulders.
  2. Hide your butt. If your chosen method of handling your butt is to reduce its presence, look for dark colors (especially pants). Choose tops (including jackets and sweaters) that reach low on your body, just after the point where your butt starts. The eye is drawn to where the garment ends so that your butt is not noticed.
    • The A-line dress is praised for its ability to conceal every butt. Find some models you like - if you can make them part of your style, the A-line dress will be your best fashion friend.
    • Buy slimmer shapewear / underwear. These will slim your waist, butt and thighs for a less bulky look.
    • Vertical features such as zippers and pleats slim the waist and back. Look for tops with these characteristics.
  3. Be precise with pants. Look out for large back pockets, low waistbands and wide legs. The pockets act as a distraction for the eyes, the waistband will make your butt look smaller and wide, flared legs help to even out your silhouette. If your intention is to divert attention away from your hips, avoid tight jeans that narrow at the ankle.
    • Look for high-waisted shorts or long pants for a classic look. The high waist connects your butt to your waist to create a seamless line, making your bum less visible.
    • If you're buying jeans, look for anything that is "boot cut" or with flared legs. Don't look for something flashy or with particularly busy patterns, especially at the back. You're looking for jeans to match your butt, not to draw attention to it.
  4. Buy the right skirts. More than any other item of clothing, you have to make sure your skirts fit very well. You don't want to attract unwanted attention with a poorly fitted skirt that curls up or folds up at the waist. Pencil skirts are a great option for wide hips as they evenly distribute your body shape. Rib skirts are great for concealing your butt and shifting focus to your legs.

Part 2 of 4: Dress appropriately (guys)

  1. Have appropriate underwear that follows your shape. Boxer shorts and cycling shorts will tighten the area around your buttocks and thighs for a tighter, smaller feel. In any case, make sure that the underwear you have fits well enough to avoid wrinkling. Crumpled fabric can be seen through pants and can even make your butt look strange.
  2. Find the right pants. Perhaps the most important consideration for anyone with a bigger butt is to buy well-fitting pants - this will help shape and disguise your bottom the most. General advice is to choose pants that fit at the waist (too high will make your butt look long) and avoid pants with a "skinny" label.
    • When it comes to jeans, look for boot cut, carpenter, worker or "relaxed-fit" jeans. These hang looser around the waist and legs, allowing for a straighter vertical line to your silhouette.
    • For more dressy pants, it is better not to choose a pleated waist. They draw the eye towards your hips and can make your butt look bigger than it is. Flat fronts are a good choice because they have a slimming effect around your waist.
  3. Buy T-shirts that fit. Many might make the mistake of buying large T-shirts in the hope that they will make your top half look bigger and fit your butt better. Unfortunately, it will make you look strange and it can make you bulkier. Provided you have good pants that fit well at the waist, it is best to buy T-shirts that hang down where your back merges into your butt for a clear vertical line.
    • Don't confuse a tight fit with a good fit. A shirt that is too tight will make your butt look like it's sticking out. You want a shirt that won't flare or flutter, but will lie flat on your front and back.
  4. Don't tuck your shirt in, if possible. If possible, don't tuck collared and shirts in. Unfortunately, this will not be possible in business and formal situations. Tucking it in narrows your shirt and brings it closer to your torso, and can make your butt look like it's sticking out. Instead, let these shirts hang loose around your waist for a straight line with your larger back.
    • Again, don't pair "slim" or "skinny" pants with a shirt. This one will squeeze your torso, making your butt look bigger.
  5. Overdo it with your shoes. Unlike girls, guys won't have many options for diverting attention from a bulky butt this way. Flashy shoes, however, are the young man's best weapon with a larger butt. Attractive, eye-catching shoes will quickly draw the eye down, away from your butt. All on the condition that they match your outfit.

Part 3 of 4: Changing your body shape

  1. Start exercising. Whether it's aerobics or weight training, walking or jogging, you can train to better train your butt and body in general. You may find a fit and tight bigger rear better than just a larger seat. You can do additional exercises for your glutes to shape them even more.
    • Squats are the most important exercise for firming and shaping your butt. Fortunately, squats, like many other butt exercises, require little to no equipment.
    • You will need to train your waist and legs and train your butt for a balanced look. Look for exercises that target muscle groups to do this as efficiently as possible.
  2. Try yoga. If you have the time, yoga works on strengthening your entire body and making your body more flexible. Look for poses that target your glutes, thighs, and lower back. Yoga is relatively easy to pick up, and can also be done at home if you dread going to a gym for it.
  3. Eat good. Another way to take control of your body shape is a healthy diet - this will help you slim your waist and body shape. For most, this includes having a smaller, more shapely butt. Of course, eating healthy will mean different things to different people, so it's better to consult your doctor for the best tips on using a diet for weight loss. With both a healthy diet and a solid exercise schedule, you should be on your way to a nicer backside.

Part 4 of 4: Accepting your body

  1. Keep having faith. Unfortunately, no one is allowed to choose his shape. We all have to do with what we have, and we should never hesitate to be proud of it. Even though your big butt may make you feel insecure, remember that you are not alone and many people around the world see a bigger butt as an attractive thing. What a bully might bully you with may be the reason for another person to ask you out. Don't let your body control your posture - make it the other way around.
  2. Keep some perspective. The teenage years are a time when everything is exaggerated and turned upside down, the body more than anything else. You may think you have a big butt, but in reality, it's just your fear and your surroundings that make you feel insecure. If it's something that really preoccupies you, talk to a neutral third party, such as your doctor, about your concern.
  3. Look forward to the future. In all likelihood, you have not finished growing yet. Your body is not yet mature and needs time to adjust. What looks clumsy or unattractive right now could become sexy and flattering. Try to accept what you look like now, but don't expect future changes as a reason not to be proactive now - now is the time to get proactive if you want to make a long-term change.
