Wireless networks have a unique name called the SSID. Most routers broadcast it, thus allowing hackers to gain access to the network. In this article, we will show you how to hide it.
Steps
- 1 Log in to your router's control panel. Read the instructions if you are not sure how to do it.
- 2 Select "home network" or a similar option.
- 3 Select 'WLAN' or a similar option and click Settings or something similar.
- 4 Uncheck "broadcast network name" or similar.
- 5 Click on "Apply" or a similar option.
- 6 Close the browser or tab through the control panel.
Warnings
- Never do this without writing down the SSID of your network. Otherwise, it can be extremely troublesome to find it.
