Let the first coat of polish dry before applying a second coat. Almost all types of nail polish require at least two coats, and some types even three coats. You need to let the polish dry completely after applying each coat. This should take between five and ten minutes, depending on the brand of nail polish you are using.

Make sure you ventilate the room well, as fumes from nail polish and nail polish remover can be toxic if you inhale them.
Do not forget to always put the cap back on the nail polish bottle so that the nail polish does not dry out.
