Many guitarists are disappointed when they see at the top of a tablature that a half note has to be tuned down. That can indeed be annoying if you are not used to tuning your guitar in other keys. It also causes wear to the pin in the guitar's neck. Don't be afraid to tune to Eb and play in that key. It's a fun way to experiment with the sound of your guitar and it provides a deeper tone.

1. Use a chromatic tuner. There is no need to spend a lot of money in the store on a chromatic tuner. There are many apps available for your smartphone and they are either free or cost a few dollars. But if you're planning to perform live, it might be wise to invest in a chromatic tuner.
2. Adjust the mood. Go through all the strings within the chord, making sure everything sounds right. You can rely on your ears or choose to use an aid.
