This article will teach you how to prevent people from seeing some of your photos and albums on Facebook.

Method 1 of 2: Hide photos on your timeline

Mobile

1. Open Facebook. This is a dark blue app with an "f" on it. If you are logged in to Facebook on your phone or tablet, this will open your Facebook News Feed.
   • If you are not logged in to Facebook, please enter your email address (or phone number) and password to continue.
2. Press ☰. This is either in the bottom right corner of the screen (iPhone) or the top right corner of the screen (Android).
3. Press your name. This tab is at the top of the menu. This will take you to your profile page.
4. Scroll down to the photo you want to hide and press Press Hide on the timeline in the drop-down menu.
5. Press Hide when prompted. This will remove your photo from your timeline, but the photo itself will still be in that album.

On a desktop

1. Go to the Facebook website. Go to https://www.facebook.com in a browser. If you are logged in to Facebook, this will load your News Feed.
   • If you are not logged in to Facebook, please enter your email address (or phone number) and password to continue.
2. Click on your name. Your first name should be at the top right of the Facebook page. Click on it to go to your profile.
3. Scroll down to the photo you want to hide and click click on Hide on timeline. This is almost in the middle of the drop-down menu.
4. click on Hide when prompted. This will hide the photo only on the timeline; the photo itself will still be displayed in the corresponding album.

Method 2 of 2: Hide photos and albums

Mobile

1. Know what you cannot hide. You can hide individual photos from permanent Facebook albums - such as the "Timeline Photos" album or the "Mobile Uploads" album - as well as entire custom albums. You cannot hide individual photos in custom albums, nor can you hide permanent albums.
   • You cannot hide albums while using the Facebook app on an iPad.
2. Open Facebook. This is a dark blue app with an "f" on it. If you are logged in to Facebook on your phone or tablet, this will open your Facebook News Feed.
   • If you are not logged in to Facebook, please enter your email address (or phone number) and password to continue.
3. Press ☰. This is either in the bottom right corner of the screen (iPhone) or the top right corner of the screen (Android).

5. Scroll down and press Photos. This tab is in the row of options below your profile picture.
6. Press Albums. This tab is almost at the top of the screen.
7. Hide a homemade album. To do this, do the following:
   • Tap on a custom album you want to hide.
   • Press "..." (iPhone) or "⋮" (Android).
   • Press "Friends" or "Public".
   • Press "Only Me".
   • Press "Save".
8. Hide a photo in a permanent album. To do this, do the following:
   • Press a built-in album.
   • Tap the photo you want to hide.
   • Press "..." (iPhone) or "⋮" (Android).
   • Press "Edit privacy".
   • Press "More" and then "Only me".
   • Press "Done".

On a desktop

6. Hide a homemade album. For this you must:

   • Click on the privacy icon below the album.
   • Click on "Only Me".
7. Hide a photo in a permanent album. For this you must:
   • Clicking on a built-in album.
   • Click on the photo you want to hide.
   • Click on the privacy icon below your name.
   • Click on "Only Me".
