Would you like to quit Facebook, but not ready to permanently delete your account? "Deactivation" will keep all your Facebook info hidden, just as if your account had been deleted. But you can still activate your account again, all your friends and info will be as usual.

To step

1. Log in to Facebook. Click the settings logo in the top right corner. In the menu that now appears, click on "Account Settings". In the left column click on "Security". At the bottom of the page you will find "Deactivate your account". Click on this.
2. You will now be taken to a page where it says "Are you sure you want to deactivate your account?You see a group of friends who, according to Facebook, are going to miss you very much.
3. Check the reason for your departure.
4. Enter any additional information in the "More information" text box.
5. Check "Unsubscribe from future emails from Facebook". Then you will no longer receive emails from Facebook. If you don't check this, your friends can still invite and tag you.
6. Confirm by clicking the "Confirm" button. Your account is now hidden from other people on Facebook. But you always have the option to reactivate your account.

Tips

• You can also deactivate your account on your iPhone with Facebook apps.
• Deactivation is different from deletion. If you want to delete your account, please go to the help center on the site and type "delete account". If you have deleted your account, Facebook will wait 14 days for them to permanently delete your profile.
• In case of deactivation, all information will be stored for you.

Warnings

• Your posts will remain visible, even if you deactivate your account. The difference is that your name is now no longer clickable. Photos, status updates and other information are no longer visible.
