This article will teach you how to use the WeChat desktop or browser app on your computer. Keep your mobile device handy, as you will need it to register.

Method 1 of 3: With a browser

1. Open WeChat on your mobile device. This makes it possible to sign up to WeChat on your computer without downloading a separate app. If you are not yet signed in to your phone or tablet, sign up now.
2. Press + in the top right corner of WeChat.
3. Press Scan QR-Code. This will open the WeChat code scanner.
4. surf to https://web.wechat.com on your computer. You can use any browser, such as Safari or Chrome. A large QR code will appear.
5. Scan the QR code on the screen with your mobile device. Once the mobile app has scanned the QR code, your profile picture will appear on your computer screen.
6. Tap Log in on your mobile device. You will now see the WeChat home page in your browser.
   • Mobile notifications are disabled as long as you are logged in to your computer.
   • To log out of WeChat on your computer, click on "☰" at the top left of the column and then select "Log Out".

Method 2 of 3: Using WeChat for Windows

1. Go to http://www.wechat.com/en/ in a browser. This method will come in handy to download the WeChat app to your Windows computer. You will have to keep your Android, iPhone or iPad handy.
2. Click the Windows logo icon on a computer screen. It's the second white icon in the center of the screen.
   • Make sure not to click on the first Windows icon (without computer screen) as that will take you to the download page for Windows mobile devices.
3. Click on Download. This is a green button on the left side of the screen.
4. Select a folder and click Save. This will download the WeChat installation file to the selected folder.
5. Open the WeChat installation file. Once the download is complete, you will usually see a link to the installation file at the bottom of the browser window. If so, click on it. If not, go to the folder where you saved the file (usually the Downloads folder) and then double-click the file to open it.
6. Click Yes to allow WeChat to install.
7. Click Install WeChat. WeChat will now be installed on your computer. When this is complete you will see a confirmation message and a green button with "Execute".
8. Click on Run. A QR code will appear with the message (Login by Scanning the QR Code ".
9. Open WeChat on your mobile device. You can now use any phone or tablet with WeChat installed. Make sure you are already logged in to WeChat on that device before continuing.
10. Press + on your mobile device. This is in the top right corner of WeChat.
11. Press QR-Code Scan on your mobile device. This will open the WeChat code scanner.
12. Scan the QR code with your mobile device. Once the mobile app's QR scanner has scanned the code, your profile picture will appear on your computer screen.
13. Press Enter on your mobile device. You should now see a welcome message on your computer screen along with your WeChat home page.
    • As long as you are logged in to your computer, mobile notifications will be disabled.
    • To log in to WeChat in the future, simply click on "WeChat" in the Windows menu.
    • To log out of WeChat on your computer, click "☰" in the lower left corner of WeChat, click "Settings" and then "Log Out".

Method 3 of 3: Using WeChat for macOS

1. G to http://www.wechat.com/en/ in a browser. This method will come in handy to download the WeChat app on your Mac. You will have to keep your Android, iPhone or iPad handy.
2. Click on the macOS icon. This is the third icon from the left from the center of the screen. It looks like a desktop computer with the word "macOS" in it.
3. Click Download in the Mac App Store. This will open the WeChat home page in the App Store.
4. Download WeChat on your Mac. Click "GET" and then click "INSTALL" to begin the download. When installation is complete, WeChat will be installed in your Applications folder.
   • You may need to sign in with your Apple ID before you can download WeChat.
5. Open WeChat. This is in the Applications folder. To open this folder, open "Finder" (the smiling Mac icon in the Dock), click the "Go" menu, then select "Applications".
6. Open WeChat on your mobile device. You can use any phone or tablet on which the WeChat app is installed. Make sure you are already logged in to WeChat on that device before continuing.
7. Press + on your mobile device. This is in the top right corner of WeChat.
8. Press QR-Code Scan on your mobile device. This will open the WeChat code scanner.
9. Scan the QR code with your mobile device. Once the mobile app's QR scanner has scanned the code, your profile picture will appear on your computer screen.
10. Press Enter on your mobile device. You should now see a welcome message on your computer screen along with your WeChat home page.
