Rain in Minecraft puts out fires and flaming arrows, supplies farms with water and waters crops, and can even fill kettles with water. Rain usually occurs temporarily and at any time while you are playing Minecraft. However, if you don't want rain, you can disable this part of the weather by enabling the cheat function and entering the appropriate commands.

To step

1. Launch Minecraft on your PC and select "Create New World" in the window titled "Select World". You can only turn off the rain by creating a new world and enabling the cheat function.
   • You can only turn off the rain in the PC version of Minecraft, unless you install mods made by others for Minecraft on your game console. Before installing Minecraft mods, you should check with the developer first to see if this particular mod will allow you to turn off the rain at any point in the game.
2. Click on "More World Options" and then select "Allow Cheats:"On.' This option allows you to use cheats while playing, in this specific world.
3. Click on "Done" and then enter a name for your new world in the text field entitled "Name of the world".
4. Click "Create New World.” Your new world has now been created and cheats have been activated for it.
5. Select the option to start a Minecraft game session in the world you just created.
6. Wait for it to start raining while playing and then type "/ weather clear" or "/ toggledownfall.’ When you type in one of these cheat commands, the name of the cheat will be displayed in the lower left corner of your Minecraft session.
7. Press "Enter.’ After pressing Enter, the message "Changing to clear weather" will appear on your screen, after which it will stop raining during your current Minecraft game session.
   • To prevent it from raining for a specific number of seconds, type "/ weather clear time>", where "time" is the time in seconds you want it not to rain.

Tips

• Turn off the rain if Minecraft stutters or runs slower than usual. Rain often causes your bps speed (frames per second) to go down, causing the game to falter and playing the game less fun.
