Burgers are known to be very difficult to grill because they contain so much fat. In a pan, however, you can fry them quickly and deliciously in your own familiar kitchen. Start by making slices of the meat and then fry the burgers in a hot skillet until they have a nice crust on both sides. Serve them with toasted burger buns and your favorite toppings.

Ingredients

  • 700 grams of ground beef
  • salt
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • Cheese (optional)
  • Toppings (optional)

For 4 servings

To step

Part 1 of 3: Making the burgers

  1. Buy high-quality ground beef that contains 80% meat and 20% fat. If the ground beef is too lean, the burgers will taste less good. For example, do not buy minced meat that contains 90% meat or even more meat. If you want slightly leaner meat, you can opt for ground beef with 85% meat and 15% fat, but ground beef that contains 80% meat and 20% fat is a better option.
    • If you want the best quality ground beef, buy fresh ground beef from the butcher.
  2. Make burgers of about 170 grams. If possible, use a kitchen scale to quickly weigh the meat. Otherwise, estimate the size of the burgers based on the amount of meat you have.
    • For example, if you have 700 grams of ground beef, you can make about four servings.
  3. Put the meat in the fridge for 20 minutes. Cover and cool the burgers. By cooling the burgers, the discs will stay together better during baking and the center will be cooked less quickly.
    • Do not leave the burgers at room temperature as bacteria can grow in the meat.

Part 2 of 3: Putting the burgers in the pan

  1. Heat a cast iron skillet over high heat. Put the pan on the stove and turn the heat all the way up. Let the pan heat up before you put the burgers in the pan. You can splash a little water into the pan to see if it's done. If the water evaporates immediately, the pan is probably hot enough.
    • You can also use a grill pan or another type of skillet, but a cast iron skillet will give the burgers a nice crust.
  2. Remove the burgers from the pan and serve. Use the spatula to remove the burgers from the pan. Place them on a plate or on toasted hamburger buns. Add toppings if you want and eat the burgers.
    • You can use sauces such as mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, and barbecue sauce.
    • As a topping you can use raw onions, grilled onions, lettuce, tomatoes, grilled mushrooms, fried bacon and slices of avocado.
